1996 Toyota Camry

1996 Camry LE V6 220k+

This carwas my daily driver for the last few years, but has been sitting now for about 6mos. It's very dirty and will need some work.It's not abeautyqueen and has dents. It really should just need a battery to drive it, but since it has been off the road for that long, I will insist it gets towed from here. I had driven the car on long distance trips multiple times to Canada with no issues as well as my commute to work everyday right before I parked it. Tires are very good (2 brand new ones), newer exhaust. If you know these cars, you will at least see one or two on the road everyday which is a testament to how great they were built being as they are so old now. Since the car has been sitting for so long, you should have a mechanic thoroughly check it out before driving..

The front windshield has a crack and I believe leaks around the gasket during heavy heavy rain. I put some gasket sealer around it every year and she's good to go. So there is some water damage in the cabin of the car as I haven't been up to date with that. The ABS and Check engine lights are on, but I have not had a problem driving it. Brakes work great and the check engine is probably Ox Sensor related. The interior needs some work a good cleaning and some tears in the front seats (I have two seat covers that will go with the car). The hood has rust spots on it, but they are just surface, a good sanding and priming will really make the car look good.The hood will need a new cable. You have to hold thehood lever from in the cabin open and then open the hood (I usually wedge a hammer end in their, and walk around and open the hood).That's the major things I can think of,HOWEVER, there may be some other things I'm forgetting. That's reflected in the price, and why the reserve is so low.

Sun roof is not operational as it was slow to close, so I disconnected it so nobody hit it by accident and would get it stuck open. You could grab a new motor from a junk yard and have it work again. This is a great commuter/beater car for someone looking to save some gas and have minimal investment. Drives great and purrs like a kitten! With another couple of hundred dollars, this car could be cleaned up very nicely and presentable.

UPDATE***** I wanted to see if I could get the car started. So I jumped it tonight. The motor purred like a kitten, but I noticed a few things, some of the interior lights are out, but the big thing is, I believe the Brake Booster is bad, or the brakes need to be bled. The car has no BRAKES.. SO this will definitely need to be towed, and needs certain things to be gone through to be road worthy. I know earlier I had said, it should just need a battery, but now I have discovered it will need more. So with that in mind, I want to make sure whoever ends up with the car is happy.. ANY BODY BIDDING, who feels they wish to re-tract or cancel a bid, by all means due so. Car will not leave my driveway until I am paid in full. Thank you!
