The Opel Rekord Series C is a executive car that was introduced in August 1966, y Opel as a replacement for the Opel Rekord Series B. It was slightly larger all round than its predecessor, rom which it inherited most of its engines. The design of the Rekord C has been characterized by some enthusiasts as “erotic” on account of the “hip-curve” on the lower window-line ahead of the C-pillar, hich reminded some folks of a Coca cola bottle and so gave rise to this becoming known as the “Coke-Bottle line” Rekord. The car proved to be a solid hit with the public: it was reliable, oomy and pleasant to look at with its coke-bottle line.
Finished in a original shade of brilliant gold metallic, his coupe shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. The windshield has a small chip on the drivers side (below eye-level). All the trim is present, omplete and displays normal wear. The weather-stripping is pliable, ith little or no signs of drying, earing or shrinkage. Small rear deck lid lip spoiler. The car has a slight window tinting that compliments and completes the “sport” appearance. The upgraded 15 inch wheels represent well with only slight signs of marring or curb rash.
Inside, he rich tan cloth front bucket seats and rear seats appear with normal with only slight wear spots on the drivers seat’s outside bolster visible. The matching tan door panels, arpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking gold exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are ergonomically place have correct appearance and function as originally designed. Temperature gauge is inoperable.
