1968 Volkswagen Bus / Transporter

1968 Volkswagen Bus / Transporter - Classic I purchased this car from southern California United States two years ago. I am selling it because I am not using it enough to warrant the upkeep and insurance. It has been continually garaged since I purchased it as a fair weather driver. I had a local race team restore the entire bus removing all imperfections including small dents. wavy metal and a few minor rust spots (inside and out). The crew that paints Penski formula one race cars painted inside and out and the car is completely rust free including the original floor pans. the heater channels. and those other places you would expect a VW of this era to rust. The lack of rust is what prompted my purchase initially as this is a problem with these vehicles. The engine is completely rebuilt and has less than 1500 miles. It is a stock Volkswagen engine. The engine is 1600 cc with a stock single barrel carburetor. It is well tuned and performs flawlessly with no smoking and excellent compression. All of the lights. signals. and the fuel gauge work. The alternator charges. The interior is in excellent condition although it only has the front seats. All of the rubber window seals are new. The headliner and door panels are new. The engine compartment. headliner and door panels have been lined with high performance race car noise reducing insulation The bus is in exceptional condition but is over 40 years old and is sold as is. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer although I will assist in any way I can. I have owned four other air cooled Volkswagen's and know this is a very nice Bus.
