1970 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Van All artwork was done by listed folk artist Willard J. (well known for his outsider art) This van would be great to take to music festivals. it gets TONS of attention!! Or use it as a centerpiece for your music themed venue or restaurant. Or a good candidate for a full restore. BUT IT IS A DRIVER!!!!! Odometer reads 43000 but i have no idea how many times it may or may not have rolled. Maybe this listing will provide a carfax report? This van is a daily driver!! It runs and drives very well. Nice tight steering. shifts smooth and accurate. brakes work very well. Great running 1600 Dual Port engine Dual Batteries with isolator relay Brand new Hercules tires. Folding westy Z-Bed and side closet Pop top canvas is good! The top pops up nice and easy. LED interior lights to save power! Very solid chassis. still has solid original belly pans in tact. Rockers have repair work done and bondo. along with other bondo dents around it. see pics. Some rust on the front floors but not bad (see pics) Estimated 17. 5 MPG in the city. It does leak oil but not profusely. maybe a quart every 400 miles? It drives like it has a freeway flyer trans but that cant be confirmed other than it drives nicely at high speeds. All paint was hand done by an established artist. handmade and prayed so there are runs and such but it adds to the charm. On the side it has painted the likes of Elvis Presley. Patsy Cline. I would be confident driving this van long distances but I know what I'm doing. anything can happen with a 45 year old machine! So don't ask me if you can drive it up to Maine. It SHOULD make it.
