We just don't get the chance to use this camper. Its a 1982 Diesel Vanagon Westfalia with 12k original miles from South Carolina. Everything works perfect. It does have a couple very minor dings with two tiny surface rust spots the body and one spot on the rear under the bumper. I've added a Renogy 100 watt solar panel and a bank of UB12220 batteries for extra power when camping. The propane tank is currently full and the fridge will run about two weeks on propane. The fridge also runs on solar but I'm not sure how long the batteries would last. I’ve installed a Yandina and replaced the house lights with LED. The radio is a pioneer with CD, SB, nd satellite. I’ve installed new external hookups from Gowesty. New fresh water tank hose. Removed the dash to install a new heater fan blower. Also installed a new brake booster. Headlight upgrade relays. A wood floor and the section removes so you can install the 5th seat I also have. (This 5th seat does not match but is in like new condition). The front seats have never been sat on. They had factory plastic covers on when I purchased. I removed the plastic and added seat covers to protect them.
The original owner was an older gentleman that used it for local camping only. in 2002 he overheated it and parked it in a covered building. In 2013 a diesel engineering student found out about it and told his instructor. The college purchased it and the class rebuilt the engine as a project. the engine was rebuilt with .040 over turbo pistons and a new German cylinder head. It runs great. The 4 speed transmission, s would be expected, hifts fine. To make it safe to drive they also installed the correct 6-ply tires, nstalled rebuilt calipers and all new brake hoses and so on. I purchased from the college.
This Westy needs nothing and I’d drive it across the country right now. Of course with a vehicle this old I’d take some tools a few spare parts. I do have many spare parts including throttle cable, elts, ilters, njector pump, tc…
It breaks my heart to sell this but we just don’t drive it. If you want any more pictures please let me know. I’ve touch up painted this thing in a few places, nd while it does look good in the pictures its not a show car. The drivers footwell had brake fluid spill that removed some paint, he sliding door has a scrape. The drivers side has a scrape under the hookups, nd the sliding door track cover. These scrapes are very minor and I only painted to protect from Ohio weather, he paint I used is color matching and I have before pictures if you want to see them. I only used paint. No filler or anything like that. Its always stored in the winter months

Someone asked about the condition of the paint under the Bra. Its in perfect condition with no rock chips or anything. I put the Bra on there to keep it protected.
