Description

It is a 77 pop-top westy, urnt orange/yellow body. The body has little rust, xcept under the front windshield. It is still solid, ut rainwater does get past the seal. There is also a little under the battery tray, nd just surface discoloration on the underbody. There are two 'scars' on the right side: one across the sliding door, nd one on the rear quarter panel (which is minor). I have a full up spare sliding door to replace the cosmetically damaged one. All the glass is good, ouvered windows function correctly and have screens, olling windows work, believe the wing vent windows forward work, ot sure about the one in the left rear side. Definitely a candidate for paint, ut no bare spots. Evidence of dent repair to front left (at driver's feet). Top is intact, o breaks or cracks but is in need of paint to be pretty again, nd the pull down handle is broken and needs to be replaced, s does the canvas tent up there. Seals well, o air noise (well...., f you've researched or driven a Westy you know what air noise is) or water.Cushions/seats are all great or new. Front 2 are newly covered and really nice, he top double bed is original and solid, he rear z-bed is new foam and a Mexican blanket covering (stapled in).I removed the camper interior bits as I found I never really used them, nd replaced with a full width z-bed - now sleeps TWO or even three (capitalization for a really wide 2 or a normal 3 width bed) and seats 3 across (with seat belts). I picked up a '71 rear facing seat/storage to put behind the driver's seat. So the bus seats 6 and sleeps 4 full sized adults, lus the child cot across the front seats. Included. The engine is a 2 liter solid lifter with dual two barrel Weber carb's, nstalled and tuned by The Bug Stop, n Arlington TX. They also installed an external oil cooler with electric fan and thermostat and a deep sump oil pan for more quantity as well as cooler oil. I had another bus which was in an accident, nd salvaged parts of it (remember the door?) Included in the price is another 2 liter hydraulic lifer that needs rebuilt, ut is a long block engine (all the bits except the carb). The installed engine is running fine; you could rebuild the spare, ave it ready, nd just swap out when needed or sell. There is also a ready to install (or sell) transmission, fuel tank (POR-15 treated), xtra set of wheels, n external tent, ots of engine cooling tin, rake parts, nd window glass.I added a VDO tach (where the clock was, ext to the speedo) and mini VDO oil pressure, emp and clock in a nice installation below the radio opening (no radio). I have a cover for the bus as well. Two brand new (less than 1000 miles) tires are on the bus. Who's name is Bert, y the way.The rear bumper is off, ut included - the attaching nuts on the inside of the 'frame' detached and need to be welded back on - I was waiting because I have (included) a trailer hitch and was pondering the best way to put all that together.Rather telling is that, ike Lord of the Rings - one key to rule them all. ONE KEY for ignition, oors and trunk, nd all locks WORK!You can certainly drive the bus home - wherever that is - but you'll also need a pick up or van to bring all the extras that go with it. I am clearing out my 'cache' of VW.
I think that's a pretty detailed and accurate description of what's there. There's more, ather than less, n this deal.
