Offered up for sale is a very solid 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia tintop camper, ith 51k miles on the odometer and lots of original paint. Even the front windshield is original. Lived in California most of its life but did make a trip around the states as shown by the original stickers in the windows.
This is a turn key driver with a great running 1776 dual port motor equipped with a single Dellorto and rebuilt transmission by Strictly Foreign, he motor has around 8k miles on it now. Has a Petronix ignition and extra external oil fan and cooling setup with oiltemperature and pressure gauges. Along with the solid drivetrainit stops good as well with a disc brake conversion up front and older style 15" wheels all the way around for clearance.
Awell taken care of and maintained bus still retains a lot of its original paint. From the beltline up is original paint, ambs and rear interior. The floors and battery tray have been touched up. The lower section of the body has had paint blended in all the way around to fix some minor dents and scratches as well as relocating the spare tire back to the original spot.
This bus was extremely solid and only required a battery tray and work on the lower corner by it.
The floors are the original factory metal as are the rockers!
Still has the original child's cot and rear bug screen in great functionalshape.
New Wolfsburgwest door panels, eat standsand front seat covers really cleaned up the front interior. The cushions and interior in the rear is all original, ot in perfect shape but very functional.
A great example of a preservation driver status vehicle, ith only minor imperfections which give it awesomecharacter.
Included with the sale of the bus is a German made exterior side tent and luggage rack.
*The Coleman camping equipment and luggage suitcasesare not included in the sale. I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability. A pre purchase inspection can be arranged prior to the close of auction in person or by the bidders agent. As with any older vehicle a certain amount of care is needed to maintain them and operate correctly, hat being said the vehicle is sold "As Is" with no warranties or guarantees.
