2004 VW Beetle
Mechanic's special. It's a strong driver but has some issues.
I have had this car for about a year and a half. I do not know the complete history of the car other than what is in the title as a lemon buyback car with a rebuilt engine. Since I have owned it here is what I've had done:
-New brakes-New Tires-Driver side CV joint replaced-Engine mounts replaced-regular oil changes
Currently it is driving great! Quick acceleration and good handling. However, he AC is not working. Air comes out but it's not cold. Mechanic told me it is probably the expansion valve, cheap part to replace but the labor costs were high. Other issues include:
-crack in windshield (see photo) but does not hinder visibility-damage to passenger side rear paneling (see photo)-torn leather seats (I use a seat cover now)-passenger window motor does not work, he window lowers part way and then needs to be assisted to go up all the way-convertible top does work, ut needs assistance up and down.-glove box does not latch, o I use a tie up method-driver side interior door paneling is loose
Despite the issues, t drives great, ets about 22mpg, nd will get you where your going no problem.
Do not hesitate with any questions.
