Original west coast Westfalia, 1991 4 spd

Very clean, original paint, all records vehicle with fastidious maintenance. I purchased this van from the primary owner, an 83 year old German gentleman, in 2013 after his wife had a hip replacement and could no longer camp. This vehicle is excellent condition with minor scratches and dents consistent with a vehicle of its age. It comes with two keys, locking gas cap and glove box, all manuals and receipts since new (including over 100 invoices). Everything that has needed attention has had it in a timely manner.

In the last 15,000 miles it has had:

oil changes at approximately 3,000 mile intervals

all other fluids replaced (coolant - twice with the correct German stuff, brake fluid, clutch fluid, transaxle)

new catalytic converter

brake service including master cylinder

clutch assembly and machined flywheel

clutch slave cylinder

gas tank re-seal, vent hoses

fuel lines, fuel rail lines

cooling system updating including water pump, temp. sensor, thermostat, new steel pipes in the engine bay

right and left cv joint assemblies

control arm bushings

power steering rack boots

tie rod ends

shocks - konis

5 new LT rated 8 ply van tires (~2,000 miles ago)

The van drives very well, solid brake pedal, tight steering with no shimmy, no suspension squeaks or rattles, smooth shifting and unusually good power. Records indicate that the engine was replaced when it had approximately 80,000 miles on it. Current mileage is about 177,000, but odometer was replaced with a new one at 156,000 miles (documented in original service manual). Current reading is ~21,000 miles (32,341 kms). The van is very original with only an aftermarket CD player. It is also equipped with a second battery and 700W inverter. Fridge gets cold and makes ice! Everything works. The remainder of the interior is in excellent condition - pet free, smoke free and no rips or tears. The van has a full size awning, front curtain and rear bug screen. I have the rear table (not pictured) but not front. The plastic cover for the propane tank is missing.
