For sale is a 1998 VW passat. Car is currently being used, It is driven about 40 miles a day. It is a good looking car. It runs great on the highway, and is a great long distance commuter because of its comfortable ride. Things changed in the past year include, battery, and alternator. It is an 18 year old car, so there are a few blemishes. The radio knob is worn, the drivers side carpet is also worn. A check with a VW dealer when bought 3 years ago revealed a slow oil leak on the oil pan gasket and also a slow coolant leak on the coolant phalange. Previous owner gave me a gasket and I still have it. It is a common thing with VW turbo cars, and previous owner and I just checked the coolant and oil in a few weeks, and it never bothered me because car performs well. It only uses full synthetic oil and only G12 coolant bought from a VW dealer. Previous owner, changed timing belt, about 40,000 miles ago. The drivers side door lock needs a repair kit because its spring mechanism is faulty. Nonetheless, it has central locking and all the doors can be opened or locked from the trunk or passenger side door, and the remote works periodically because it is worn. It has 4 matching tires that appear may need to be changed in future. But in terms of drive-ability, the car drives and handles superbly. The air conditioning is ice cold and the heater works great. New owner can start and drive it away without issue. Car has always passed all inspections. No engine lights. I love the car but can't keep it for a very good reason. Car is being sold locally, but it can be viewed and test driven before auction, and even before the payment is made. Thanks
