This 1967 VW Bug was built in Long Beach California, obviously a great candidate for restoration; it has undergone a complete and thorough renovation/restoration. I purchased the car in 2008. It is an immaculate example, being a California car there is absolutely no rust anywhere, always parked in a heated and insulated garage – formerly in Seattle, now the car resides in Denver. The odometer currently shows 93676, but this is erroneous as the car has undergone a renovation/restoration, a complete rebuild and I’ve driven it less than 3000 miles since I’ve owned it.
It has been completely gone through with no issues and stands as an example of the finest 1967 VW Beetle available on the market today. If you have any questions I can put you in-touch with the owner of the specialty VW garage in Bellevue, WA that has serviced the car since I’ve owned it.
The engine number indicates it’s a Type 3 from 1971-1973, 1600cc – 7.7:1 compression – US/Canada M239 California fuel injection – it has been modified to 1776cc with dual baby Webber carburation – the transmission number indicates its from 8/69 – 8/72, it’s a 4 speed and works perfectly, solid with no gear jump - this bug is fast given an understanding of how these cars perform and will easily cruise at 70mph all day long – the suspension and steering have recently been upgraded as well there’s an electronic ignition – incorporating the modern engineering to deliver the best driving experience – today this Bug could not be professionally recreated for less than $35,000. Everything has been done that could be done – it is far better than when it was new – it’s a 95 point car without any doubt.
I would not consider selling this wonderful vehicle except that I no longer have the space for it, and with teenagers I need to get them an appropriate car to drive. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me – as always I would encourage a pre-purchase inspection.
