Please read the entire description. I bought this car from A VW mechanic who just retired. This is a Texas car and no rust. I bought it to fix up since I have been looking for a wagon a long time. However I also have a 1997 sedan that when I bought it the couple that had it just had the sedan rebuilt. Unfortunately the idiot that rebuilt it must had taken home economics instead of auto shop. The car just quit. I looked at the invoice the people paid and all that was done. Actually all they did was put some cheap ring set in and the compression stinks. So I had to rebuild it along with the pump and injectors. I still have a ways to go and I have far too much money in it so I am keeping it. Getting back to the wagon it is a different story. The engine within the last year or so was gone through. New VW injector pump. Timing belt and water pump just replaced. Shock. struts. nd wheel bearings. Has Sony CD player with MP3 port. This car runs like new and you can drive it anywhere. I do not know how many miles are on this car since I believe the cluster has been changed out. As a matter of fact I am sending it out to be rebuilt since the Temp gauge is erratic. Basically the entire drive train has been gone through over the last year or so. The only problem is the car has hail damage. It needs a paint job since the clear coat is pealing. The damage is mostly on the hood. And a few dings on the roof. The fenders and doors look good. I have a hood that is excellent condition that is included with the car. I was going to repair the roof. ut the new hood on and paint the car. Everything else is turn key and go. Tires are 50% Yokohama. The cruise control is a little tempermental and I think it is in the switch. I may have an extra switch. Any questions call 817-371-7706 between 9AM-10PM central time. I will deliver the car for 199. 00 to your door as long as you can get me to a major airport. What I do know is that I have been dealing with VW diesels since 1982 mostly rebuilding them so I know a good one from a bad one and this is a good one. Besides it came from a certified VW repairman who I have known for 20 years. I mentioned the car has hail damage on the hood which is about 95% of all the hail damage and some dings on the roof and it could use some good cleaning. The hood I am including all it need is sanding and repainting. The drive train is excellent. Good clutch and smooth transmission. There are no grinding of gears in any gear. All lights work on dash even the headlight on buzzer works when you leave the headlight on and open the door. The right rear tail light has a crack in it but I have an oem replacement for it. It has 2 small rock chips on the windshield and the window tinting you may want to change out. All power windows work. So does the sunroof. No rattles in the suspension. My low reserve which I do not give out is what I have invested in the car including the cluster. This car is very fixable and I am sure you know how rare these wagons are. Call me if you have any questions. I am being as straight foward as possible. If there is a problem that I overlooked or didn't catch we will work something out within reason. I have scanned this car several time and there are no codes or pending codes stores in the computer and there is no check engine light on. All system check good and the timing is correct.
