Rebuilt 2. 0-liter engine in 02/2013 with receipts totaling $5800. 00 for the rebuild. carbureted engine. solid 4-speed transmission (does not pop out of any gear!). The crank out windows are in excellent working condition! The Z bed works as it should and is in very good condition. The jack points. out riggers. frame rails and floors are excellent!!! This bus runs and drives excellent and I would not hesitate to take it on a cross-country trip as it sits. It is that solid. This van just came off a 1-year road trip all across the US. The tires and brakes are in great condition; the canvas has been replaced within the last year. The sink works. as it should. the stove works but is out of propane. The VW has AC and all the components are present but the compressor is not installed. The bus has just had a brand new Weber carb and intake installed and runs great. As far as rust goes there is some rust in the driver’s foot well (pictured. plus that is the worst rust on the bus) and 2 pinholes in the drivers floor (pictured as well). All the light work as well as the wipers. The front seats need recovered but are usable as is. The rear bed is in great shape as is the top bunk. The bus need some work in order to be a showpiece but it is ready for another cross-country journey as is. I will ship overseas.
