1970 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLH

MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition, very original and low mileage 1970 Harley-Davidson XLH with the awesome boat tail! The XLH model line is credited with being the motorcycle that saved Harley-Davidson. By using stale designs and innovations Harley-Davidson’s model line became stagnate and their future became in jeopardy. Fortunately in 1957 the company started their “XL” or Sportster model line which became their best selling and longest model that is still in production today. From 1958 to 1971 the Sportster variant called the XLH or XLCH which were more performance orientated than the normal Sportster; using a high-lift cam and various other performance modifiers these models became known as the “competition hot” series of Harley-Davidson’s.

This rarely seen boat tail XLH has remained in excellent condition since it was purchased. It has been with the same owner since 1988 and is still on the Ohio title dated 7/14/1988 at which at that time the miles were only 4,335; today the mileage is shown at 4517. Still retaining the original Sparkling Green paint with white pin-stripping; the paint is in fantastic original condition considering the age, nly minor imperfections are visible. All of the chrome is in great condition with no noticeable aging or pitting.
