Description

Up for sale today we have a fairly rare 1972 Ducati 250cc "Road" model only imported for two years. They were available in 250cc/350cc engine sizes with scrambler styling and good ergonomics for all day riding. Motors are bevel drive over head cam with the simpler and trouble free valve springs. These bikes have 27mm intake ports which give them better performance than the standard 24mm intakes found on Monza/Sebring models. Known as wide case models they came with the later stronger frames. nbsp;beefier crank cases. improved kick starter and alloy shouldered rims. I purchased this bike last year off E-Bay as a stock unmolested bike with the exception of the upgraded Power Dynamo 12v ignition and charging system. The Power Dynamo system replaces the original 6v alternator/ignition system with a 12v a self generating ignition that doesn't need a battery to run. The ignition is fully electronic and no more points to adjust or maintain. The 12v lights are super bright and this bike is a pleasure to ride at night. After receiving the bike a few upgrades were done: new tires. wheel bearings. chain. shocks. AGM battery. ignition switch and lower handle bars were installed. I have ridden this fun and very reliable bike regularly with our local vintage motorcycle Meetup group: http://www. meetup. com/Vintage-Motorcycle-Meetup/ and put on about 700 trouble free miles last year. This bike starts easily and runs great but has always smoked when it gets warmed up. Having too much fun riding it and lack of time has kept me from working on it but I am including with the bike parts to freshen up the top end. The horn and rear brake light switch are not working but the rear brake light works fine off the front brake light switch. The bike has been repainted but there are a few scratches in the rear fender and shown in the photos. Here is a short Youtube vide of the bike running: https://youtu. be/HHM-zOtRvnU OR https://www. youtube. com/embed/HHM-zOtRvnUThe Ducati is currently licensed and registered in California and the title is in my name. Will help with shipping but no crating is available. Payment by cash. cashiers check or wire transfer and sorry no Pay Pal. All shipping costs are buyers responsibility.
