Description

2002 BMW R1150RT-P - 56. 50 miles and climbing. Clean Colorado Title. Runs and Looks Great! This bike was retired from police service and received a COMPLETE PROFESSIONAL ENGINE TEAR DOWN AND REBUILD at 48. 00 miles. Mechanic owned since. All routine maintenance is up to date. Full 54. 00 mile routine maintenance was performed. The ill-famed and hated electric-servo assisted braking system that came with this bike has been REMOVED by a professional mechanic. The result is a perfectly working conventional braking system with better response. better reliability. and simpler maintenance. All of the problems associated with the electric-servo braking system (check forums) have been done away with. and removing this also dropped 15 pounds. Do your research and you will find that those who have done this service are much. much happier with their R1150. I definitely have been! Never crashed. No mechanical problems. Matched set of Michelin Pilot tires with 2. 00 miles on them. Oil changed 1. 00 miles ago. Does NOT leak or burn any oil. Battery less than 1 year old. 6 Speed with true overdrive. Electric-Adjustable Windscreen. Heated Grips. 50 mpg city. 55 highway. NO ABS. NO CASES. Bike will accommodate side cases you provide from any R1150 model. Crash bars are removable in about one minute if you don't like them. Features unique to the "P" model are: 840-watt alternator (civilian model has a 700-watt). Final-drive gear ratio of 2. 82:1 (civilian is 2. 91:1). Gear one and two are lower than civilian model for smoother and easier low speed maneuvering. Gear six is a true overdrive (some civilian models may also have this). Auxiliary cooling fan for idling while stationary. Front crash bars with mounts for additional lights or accessories. easily removed if you don't like them. A more accurate speedometer. Two 12-volt accessory outlets (civilian model R1150RT comes with one). Additional front lighting has a true frame mount. White lights have replaced the police flashers. Headlight on-and-off switch (civilian model running lights cannot be turned off). Auxiliary battery compartment - no extra battery currently. Could be used to add battery. radio. or just for small items storage. Cosmetically I would give this bike an 8 out of 10. Both driver footrests are worn as shown in photo. There are a couple of zip ties used on one of the frame covers where a tab has broken off. There are a few very minor scratches from touching things in the garage. This bike is ready to cross the country or be your daily commuter. Clean Colorado title ready to be signed over.
