Red and Ready 2002 BMW r1150rt

Garage kept 2002 BMW r1150rt with 50. 57 miles. If you have never ridden one of these. it is one of the best open road tourers ever made- plenty of torque. extreme reliability. comfort. safety- it is all here. Don't spend $20k on a new bike. I have been riding for many years. have never bought an expensive bike. but somehow manage to have the ones that passers-by always want to ask about (unlike my HD buddies!). I have done thousands of miles on Beemers and love them. Comes with your choice of city bags or touring bags (both shown in photos). ABS (working perfectly). adjust on the fly electronic windshield (both OEM and a touring shield shown- you get the shorter one). adjust on the fly headlights w/ headlight protector. real fuel gauge. and gear indicator. Photos show a GIVI mount for trunk- THIS IS NOT INCLUDED! I will put the stock luggage rack back on. Bill Maier seat- if you have never had one before. this is by far THE most comfortable. all-day seat I have ever been on. and I have had Corbins. nbsp;Sergants. etc. Everything works. with the exception of the fast idle switch on the left handlebar control- it is missing. but I am including a complete left side control with the switch intact. so all you need to do is change them out. I have replaced the bulky knee pads with flat. textured rubber ones as shown in the photos. but the stock ones are included. I also replaced all of the foot peg rubbers. Tires are Pirelli Angels with about 50% tread life remaining. The bike was re-painted red. with some metal flake. by the previous owner (approx. 2yrs ago) and was previously silver. from what I can tell. It was a good paint job. but there is a run. which is not noticeable. but it is there. When I bought the bike. the speedo was not working- the odo worked fine. and the previous title confirmed the mileage was correct. I waited patiently on eBay till I found a used speedo with about the same mileage and changed them out (side by side photo attached). The mileage on the existing odo (44229mi) is therefore 6328mi short of actual. Don't worry about 50k on this type of bike- they regularly go 150- 200k. without rebuilds. The bike has an oil leak from the front engine cover- if you know the opposed twins. you know that there is no gasket on the front cover. just sealant. The repair just requires removal of the front cover and a new bead of sealant. I just don't have the time or inclination and have priced the bike accordingly. I'd rather put my time into the replacement Beemer. already in the garage. The only other flaws are a gouge in the shaft drive cover- was there when I got it. and a broken tab on the left lower fairing. The tab is not essential for keeping the fairing secure. so it has been no big deal to me. The right mirror was broken when I got it. Rather than spend way too much for an OEM replacement. I just had the local glass shop cut one and laminated it on top of the old one. Recent oil change and replacement of oil level window- a common leak point on these. Done within 200miles. Clear title in hand. As is. no warranty. I will not ship. but will meet your shipper to allow access. $250 down within 24hrs of purchase. remainder within 7 days.
