Very nice, ully serviced R100GS PD

Was owned by a customer at our NH store, old a NY store customer who eventually traded it back in. When the last owner who traded it bought the bike, e replaced the fork springs, nd rear shock. Since it was traded in, he bike was fully serviced. All fluids were changed and has been test rode periodically to make sure someone is getting a great running back. Cosmetically, epending on the buyer's opinion, t is a good looking bike. As you can see from the pictures does show wear and has been ridden...but some may say it is supposed to look this way

Push a GS and you'll be surprised how ably it responds# I remember a guy who used to race a GS in Battle of the Twins around Cadwell and the like and there was many a red-faced Ducati, uzzi or Cagiva rider in his wake# Unlike some Japs #the Super Ten springs to mind#, he BM nears its limits slowly, racefully, radually# It never gets ragged, hreatens to throw you off or scares# It merely deteriorates, ets slightly more sloppy the more crazy you ride# And that's largely why it's so much fun#
The only time you really have to wake from this swinging, umbering bliss is on the brakes# With its solitary 285mm Brembo up front and single disc rear, he P-D's brakes are, o be blunt, little marginal# I always needed hefty wodges of rear to slow as I'd like -and that was relatively unladen and solo# With repeated hard use, uch as my twisty, ight-mile hack into work,
they faded quicker than a cheap T-shirt in a Philips Whirlpool# The rearwards weight bias doesn't help, f course, ut an extra disc up front would do wonders for my self-preservation#
Overall, hose are the sort of conventional performance-orientated parameters that plain don't seem to matter very much on the P-D# Yes, ou can have a whoop-whoop blast on this Beemer, ven if it is lOmph slower than would be possible on most of its obvious competition# But, ore usually, ven more idiosyncratically, t's the things that aren't immediately obvious that, n time, ring big smiles to your face# And that can be the first long ride when you notice how comfortable the deep seat and low and easy riding position is; the first unscheduled shopping binge when you realise how useful those panniers are — big enough for a full
face lid for example or that first cold morning when you fall instantly in love with the wonderful heated bar-grips# And on top of all that the P-D has that aforementioned but unobtrusive huge tank, useful rear rack, tylish if a tad useless raised front mudguard AND more gaudy style than any GS can shake a stick at#
Whether that's all worth th, 909 the P-D costs over the standard R100GS is another matter# And if you want the heated bar grips they're an extra ^105# But for me, he GS remains my favourite BM and the P-D version of it is, f not some kind of weird ultimate, efinitely the best yet# For two weeks it was my car, y scratcher, y van and my joy# It had a heater, t had superb panniers, t was comfortable, ut more than anything, t was fun# And one day I'd like to end up with one# When I'm 35# D
