Starts and runs great....I bought this with the plans of tearing it down and setting it up for my son...he moved on to a Honda 550/4 and there it sat. Previous owner parked it in 1994 (see the plate in the picture)when he hit a pothole and severely dented the Lester Mags that were originally on the bike. It was parked and never got back on the road. Thus the newer snowflake wheels.
We have gone through the fuel system and sealed the tank and rebuilt the petocks and replaced fuel lines and throttle cables...they were all pretty tired. Changed the oil and the trans fluid and it started right up and drive and shifts well. Paint is obviously not original as he had painted it years ago. The speedo and tach work great ...the eyebrows are a bit tired but still there and in place.
Previous owner was a long time owner and shared his stories of driving it from Iowa to California and up and down the cost from Mexico to California. He had a gigantic ugly fairing on it which I pulled and sorted out some of the old dodgy fairing wiring. Some where along the way one of the pipes got battery acid on it but not rusty.....the other looks like it was replaced and is near perfect. He added a strangeoil drain fitting that I would go back to stock on.You can find them on ebay for $20.00 or simply weld it closed. Also there is a heel shiftthat can beremoved if you don't like it. Kinda cool though. The front blinker lights are there but were removed for the fairing and the "dog ears" that hold them have the wiresin them but he shortened them . I am sure there is more but it is 40 years old so expect a bit of wear.
Battery is a metric from the Honda but it allows you to start and run it.
Selling as is and if you need any info send a note and I will try to respond in 24 hours.
I am keeping the Iowa plate...so cool and will be hanging it on the wall in my garage.
OH YEAH...I live in TN but work in Cincinnati and would be will willing to bring it along with me if it helps you with pick up.....I require full payment first before I load it but happy to do it at no cost to you.
A few folks have inquired about my offer to bring the bike to Cincinnati....yes I travel up there every 3 weeks or so and would be willing to bring the bike to the plant and can coordinate pick up from that location. I would like to be paid prior to carrying the bike that way but can work with you to an extent.
