2005 BMW R1200RT ABS

For Sale: 2005 BMW R1200RT with 80. 82 miles on it. This is my wife's bike that she has decided to sell and ride pillion again with me on my GS. This bike comes with a 'salvaged/rebuilt title and I wanted to address that issue from the start. I purchased this bike for my wife as a bike that needed to be reassembled. I purchased it from one who bought it from a insurance auction. He put on a new windshield and saddle bag lids and stopped there. It ran and rode without issue at that point but still needed a little TLC to get the rest of the nagging issues corrected. I used this an an opportunity to buy a bike that I always wanted to own but previously couldn't afford. So I picked it up in 2013 and used it as a 'winter project' as the seller could not afford to pay a shop to repair it completely and correctly. I ended up either replacing or repairing: (1) the fuel level sending strip. (2) the left hand warmer. and (3) the cruise control control switch. replaced all the fluids. tires and battery. All in all. there was a lot less needing to be done than was initially anticipated. It just took a lot of time and perseverance of which the dealer would certainly charge one plenty for. The mirrors cases had scratches on the outer surfaces and I chose to sand them down as opposed to replacing them leaving them with a 'buffed' appearance. There are scuffs on the outer. lower jugs which is quite common due to the extent that they are exposed. There are no other issues with the bike either in appearance or performance. The bike has passed Tennessee DOT inspection and is currently. legally titled and insured in Tennessee and is transferrable to anyone. in any state. I added the MOTO lights. and the reflective. protective decals on the side and rear of the side bags. The image shows the side ones black and the ones on the rear are not visible until headlights shine on them at night. They reflect bright white at night. A great safety feature. They also work well as scratch and scuff preventers. I also added a BMW power outlet on the top of the tank to plug in my Garmin. This is a fantastic motorbike that I wouldn't hesitate to take anywhere. It works flawlessly and everything on it works as it should. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST TO DRIVE! We took it to Birmingham last summer to Barber Motorsports park without incident. It was borrowed by a friend and his wife for the trip and it caused an argument at the camp fire as he contended that it only had 18. 00 miles and she insisted that it had under 80k. She was correct. of course. This model comes with the rare feature of the BMW OEM CD/radio/weather radio combination. antilock brakes. electronically adjustable suspension system. cruise control. heated hand grips and seats for both the rider and passenger. adjustable wind screen & self canceling turn signals. It has the BMW Paralever and Telelever suspension and shaft drive. The battery and tires are new as of 2014. No argument from me that this is not a show room. displayable bike. But was never built to be that. It was built to be ridden and enjoyed and it really has. Having many bikes. for many years. admittedly. this is really a nice looking and riding bike. The most common comment we hear is the amazement that this bike really has this many miles on it. It really doesn't look like it does. You will be proud to own this motorbike. No doubt in my mind.
