This motorcycle was purchased by the current registered owner in 2001with his hopes of starting a WWII era motorcycle collection. Work-related demands and moves prevented this dream from ever materializing. When it was purchased. it was ridden twice. for approx. one mile each time. then stored in dry climate controlled garage until now. All mechanical and electrical equipment functioned as it should when it was ridden. then it was parked & stored. The owner had a civilianized 1955 model M20 at this particular time. and the two models performed similarly. although this War Department military model has a smaller carburetor. which limited the top speed performance slightly. No speedometer was on the motorcycle when it was purchased. so a speedometer was purchased from C&D Auto in England. This is the one and only item added to the bike since the current owner purchased it in 2001. But alas. mileage accumulated prior to the purchase is totally unknown. The lack of taper at the rear of the gas tank on the right side denotes this to be a North Africa campaign M20. with the tank modified to accommodate a snorkel type breather tube leading to an oil bath air cleaner which would mount on top of the gas tank. (This high-breather air cleaner is not included with the bike. ) The owner has decided it is now time for the bike to be passed on to someone else for their military vehicle collection. Bike has clear title & registration in current owner's name. VIN and motor #WM20 28898. Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping and/or transport after sale. Will assist as much as possible with logistical help on this end. Sorry. no buy-it-now price. auction only. Good luck and thanks for looking!
