1968 BSA A65L Lightning

This is a full frame-off complete restoration of a numbers matching bike. I bought the bike at the 2012 Barber Vintage Festival auction by J. Wood & Co. The owner had finished the resto and sent the bike directly to the auction. As soon as I got it home I took it to Berkshire Cycles in Goshen, ass. for a total tune up to make it road ready. It has run flawlessly since then. To date I have put 418 gentle break in miles on it and have just done an oil change. It is still registered and I will probably put a few more miles on it before it leaves my hands. If it doesn't sell I will keep it and just ogle it which is pretty much what I ahave done with it for the last 3 years.

I am selling it because at age 73 I feel that I should begin down-sizing my collection of bikes.

As the photos show it is a beautiful bike. However there are a couple of small flaws in the paint on the tank. that I did not see when I examined the bike at the auction and discovered them only after it was delivered. There is a tiny dimple in the paint and a few speckles, ll clustered in the same small area at the left nose of the tank under the handlebar. Although I would have bought the bike even if I did notice the flaws I feel that I must point them out here for the sake of completeness. Please see the attached photo of this area.

I will cooperate as best I can with shipping arrangements but the buyer is responsible for those arrangements. A $500 non refundable Paypal deposit is required at auction's end and the balance must be paid within 7 days.

Pick up is at the owner's convenience but it must be in a reasonable time frame.
