1971 BSA B50T
500 cc
I bought the bike a year ago with the intention of building her into a vintage race bike. But then I spent far too much money and time on her, nd made her into a unique street scrambler. This bike gets a huge amount of attention wherever it goes, nd really stands out in any crowd.
The bike usually starts first kick from cold, nd always starts first kick when warm, he engine has loads of torque from low revs is a delight to ride on the roads.
Frame and swing arm are powder coated in a light metallic blue, was looking for a 1970 Jaguar metallic blue color and it took two coatings before they got the color I wanted. Many other cycle parts are powder coated silver including the foot pegs, oot peg mounts, ront brake torque arm, ear brake lever, ngine steady, ront mudguard support.
The rear shocks are from Works they were rebuilt by them with all new internals and damping set for mostly road use. I rebuilt the front forks with all new seals. The swingarm has new bearings.
A Boyer Bransden electronic ignition is fitted, t works very well and helps the bike start easily. A Podtronic 200w voltage regulator and rectifier is fittedalong with a brand new Yuasa battery. New plug wire and cap. The rear light is an aluminum bodied LED unit from Dime City cycles. I made a new wiring harness, ll the lights and indicator bulbs and hornwork, nd the bike just passed the Texas inspection.
Rims are Spanish Akront high shouldered aluminum, he front is a 21", ires are new Dunlop 606's, ew tubes fitted. Chain is a new RK Xring gold. The seat is from a B50MX so has the correct aluminum base to it, ather than the pattern models with a fiberglass base. The aluminum side panels are held in place with aircraft style 1/4 turn screws, he attachment points were fabricated along with custom mounts for the exhaust. The exhaust has a Jet Hot ceramic coating, he megaphone is stainless with the spring mounts tig welded on. The foot pegs which are based on the BSA foot pegshave large serrated grip areas tig welded on and are silver powdercoated. Front and rear fenders are new aluminum components.New petcock, ew rear brake switch. Carburetor rebuilt with new seals, ew Uni air filter.
The engine has great compression, s mentioned previously starts really easily, uns very quietly, earchange is good. I rebuilt the clutch with all new steel and friction plates, ew inner hub, ew bearing, ew cush rubbers. When I rebuilt the clutch I replaced the primary side and gearbox seals, nd now the bike is pretty much oiltight.
Matching frame and engine numbers.
Bike is not currently titled and is sold with a bill of sale.
