Description |

The bike was built in the old school café style with a lot of power and torque. Bike starts easily and runs great with a very strong engine.
I bought the bike from the builders as an addition to my collection but now I need to make room for other items.
The original builders of this bike were extremely meticulous with the build process building it from the bare frame up; media blasted the frame and painted it with a base coat clear coat application. All parts of the bike were assembled with great care.
Frame Number: A65L-5041 Frame Number indicates it is a 1966 Lightning
Engine Number: A65S-8117 Engine Number indicates it is a 1966 Spitfire
Title: Clear Arizona Title in my name

Engine was built from the crank shaft sludge trap up. Cylinder was bored .40 over and matched to the British made pistons. The head was redone with new guides installed and seats cut to match the new valves. The machinist also installed crank shaft bushings and machined it to factory specs. Wiring was completely redone, ith all joints soldered, eat-shrink and run in cloth loom. The seat was professionally redone; foam is great and the seat looks beautiful.
Engine has proper 1966 Amal Mono Block carbs. Both carbs are in very nice shape. One is 389-228 and the other is 689-228 making these matching left and right carbs for 1966. All brass gaskets and seat needled are fresh along with slides.
Paint on frame is high gloss black, ase coat clear coat automotive paint. Tank and fender were also done in base coat clear coat in gray with light gray racing stripes. Tank and fenders were in very nice shape prior to painting.
Bike has big valve head, pitfire higher compression pistons. It also has the vintage Amal mono blocks with velocity stacks with the brass screens. So if you use it as a daily drive you may want to put regular filters on the bike. Bike has the center and side stand. The bike currently has new racing café bars installed.
This BSA has a quick disconnect rear wheel as well as a functioning choke lever on the handlebar. It still has Ewerts functioning fuel petcock with the cross over tube. The rims are original British made Jones Wheels. They are still nice but they are 40 + years old, o they do show some wear on the chrome. But as they are original I did not want to replace them with the cheaper light duty ones. They still look nice with some light patina on them.
This is one very nice British bike that is a blast to ride. The bike has 52 trouble free miles on it since restoration.
