This bike is up for auction with NO RESERVE.
Original owner of this first edition 999R #182. The bike was purchased at first release during an exclusive Ducati auction similar to the recent release of the Superleggera. The purchase price was nearly $34k. There are more than $6k in upgrades (not including the gunmetal track body).
Like other R models, he 999 comes with a more powerful modified engine design that includes numerous upgrades including titanium valves, onrods, ightened crank and forged pistons. The frame was modified to meet homologation requirements for World Superbike. It comes from the factory with a stock exhaust cannister and an off-road canister for track use. The R model also includes fully adjustable Ohlin shock and forks, orged aluminum Marchesini wheels and a complete OEM carbon fiber body in red.
Upgrades included with the sale of this bike: a full titanium Termignoni exhaust kit (lighter, arge diameter header) including air filter and ECU, pgraded Ohlins factory valves for shock and forks, urflex slipper clutch, ucati Performance rear-sets, nd Braketech floating rotors.
Successful buyer will have first option to purchase a complete spare carbon fiber track body kit separately, or a price to be negotiated after purchase of the bike. Pictures of the bike with the gunmetal grey body kit installed appear at the end of the set. The track body is an all carbon fiber Bursi kit purchased from Motowheels which includes a complete belly pan. The track body is significantly lighter than stock. The body kit includes a nose fairing bracket (for removal of the headlight and provides a mount for the instrument panel), rame sliders (that pass through matching holes in the fairing), nd a tinted Puig windscreen.Paint work was done by Cyclefinish and reveals the same Ducati 999R lettering in carbon fiber featured on the stock bodywork. The kit includes two tanks (one in carbon painted to match but which requires resealing repair) and a second stock tank (in factory Ducati grey - which is not an exact match and could use fresh paint).
The bike has been very well cared for at Desmoto Sport in San Francisco. Full service completed (early) including belt replacement. California registered through June of 2016. The bike is available for inspection at Desmo at the buyer's request and expense.
Check out the 999R review on Visordown for more information on this model. The Ducati 999R was #5 on their list of the top 10 bikes to buy instead of one Honda RC213V-S.
