Description |
---|
This is a recent barn find early Knucklehead and BT Flathead Sidecar with the matching 1937 Tag and Frame Number.
And this is a NO SHIPPING cash and carry auction with no exceptions.
if interested and you have the cash and a price in mind close to my opening bid we can do a buy it now.
So contact me to let me know your pickup and payment intentions before bidding.
I'm roughly 2.5 hours from NYC, lbany, oston, rovidence and RHINEBECK but I cannot deliver the Sidecar there next weekend.
As far as the sidecar goes; ....I hate to say it was "restored" 25 years ago as it is not 100% correct.
The main thing wrong is the 16" wheels and it is sad about the missing rebound straps on the undersidebut they are available in repop from what I remember.
Back in the day when this one was painted they replaced much of the floor.
And there are spots on the outside of the body that have a skim coat of plastic/bondowhich was commonly done when they "restored" things way back then.
The seats were redone on new wood and the touneau cover is probably as old as the paintand it has a tear as shown in one of the photos.
A few of the Tonneau Cover Snaps are missing as well as the key for the Spare Tire.
The frame Number and the Body Tag number both match.
I believe the brake assy is real deal 37 and as far as mounts and brake linkage what you see is what you get.
Taillamp and Glass look like real deal originals also
I never even cleaned the dirt off of the sidecar body, nterior or chassis to show exactly how it was found.
It looks pretty nice as is for a barn fresh driver and all of it will clean up a lot better with a good wash and wax.
And at that point put it on a daily driver and enjoy it.
BUY IT NOW at 7500 available for the right guy in the right place and time.
Please do not get me involved with any long term long distance relationships.
Ask for my phone number if seriously interested.
