You are bidding on a 1999 XL1200S Sportster that has been built into a XR750 look alike for the street. I am the second owner of this bike and it has 1996 original miles (that's right, ess that 2000 miles) on the original engine and frame. The engine is stock, nd has the dual-plug system with four-pole coils, 0:1 compression and special camshaft profile. It runs like new. I focused on making the bike handle and the brakes have gone from two single piston calipers on the front and a singe caliper on the back to two 4-piston calipers on the front and a 4-piston caliper on the back, o this bike will stop in a hurry. With the racing springs, teering damper and Rincor Intiminators for the forks, his bike should handle as well as any bike out there.
This build has taken me longer that I thought it would and it is 99% done. It just needs the following to complete the punch list:
New Performance Machine 4-piston calipers in front need to be aligned, djusted filled up with fluid and bled
New Performance Machine 4-piston caliper and Storz 10" brake kit needs to be aligned, djusted filled up with fluid and bled
New brake light pressure activator needs to be wired to brake light. I was planning on encasing it in braided stainless line, hich I have.
The throttle does not return smoothly. It is either the cable or the throttle sleeve. I planned on replacing the plastic throttle with a Bitwell Whiskey metal throttle sleeve.
Install Ricor Intiminators, hich I have. This is optional
Take it for a ride and sort it out. That is all that is left.
Every part I added to this bike was new. Clear title and current plates. I will include a service manual, riginal owners manual.
