Ihave a very nice original paint 1948 Panhead. Original factory VIN numbers with matched cases. I bought this from the widow of the owner of this motorcycle who bought it from the original owner. I am the third owner. I have the original receipt from the dealership it was purchased from in 1948 along with the original rider hand book, nd pictures from the late 40's with the same bike with all the accessories that are still on it to this day. The hubcap was installed by the original owner, long with the rare period exhaust, ail gunners, uco bags, tc. The exhaust sounds awesome. The motor & transmission have never been opened up. The bike runs great & shifts like butter. The only thing that has been changed from the original owner is the installation of Coker tires and battery. I would not be afraid to ride this bike anywhere. Nothing else has been changed or messed with. This is about as good as it gets for a period original paint 48 Pan. All chrome was done by the original owner back in the 40's. The story is the original owner received this bike as a high school graduation gift from his parents. I have a picture of him sitting on the bike with his dog, Lucky Guy" in 1948. I've put around 1200 miles on it & took it on a Texas road run last year and it ran like a champ. The only thing missing is the guy's initials that were on the seat skirt. They were gone when I purchased it. All the pictures, riginal receipt, nd rider's hand book will go with the bike. I pulled the original buddy seat off the bike becausethe cover/stitchesstarted to separate from the pan. I had Worsham Castle make a new/old seat for me. The original seat will go with the bike and the Worsham Castle seat will stay with me. The bike starts easy, nd has a very quiet drive train. This is one of the coolest Panheads I've ever owned or ridden. This bike has alwaysbeen very well taken care of and the original paint is fabulous. This would make a great Christmas gift forsomeone.I hate to see it go but I just have to many things going on right now.I'm just south of Kansas city and I can store for a reasonable amount of time and can also assistwhen picked-up.You can also check out this video. https://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=vmn&type=vmn__webcompa__1_0__ya__ch_WCYID10082_campaign_150212__yaie&p=youtube+48+panhead
