1968 Honda CL450K1 Scrambler twin-cylinder motorcycle in OEM Candytone Red livery. Bike shows a low 69XX miles. (I'm still riding it but will not take it to 7000 miles) starts. idles and runs out great. The bike has recently received a full service. (camchain tensioner. valve lash. points. ignition timing set to spec; carbs cleaned and balanced; oil filter rotor cleaned and fresh oil installed; original air filters cleaned; fresh spark plugs installed) new tires. tubes and rimbands. new fork seals and suspension fluid. Cosmetically the bike is in excellent original condition showing only very minor flaws in the original paint on the tank and sidecovers. The chrome is very nice with no pitting. one small flaw in the muffler near the end. In bringing the bike back to the condition I desired I replaced the fork gaiters. installed a NOS right headlight ear. NOS left cylinder headpipe. used tachometer. used original seat in better condition than the existing one. used headlight bucket in better condition than the existing one. new OEM grips. new aftermarket levers and acorn-nut mirrors. The tires are Dunlop Gold Seal K-70's; 3. 25-19 front and 4. 00-18 rear. These are the type of tires the bike shipped with but up one size in the rear from the 3. 50-18 originally fitted. (the 3. 50 looks puny to my eye so all my 450's get 4. 00's. )The original paint on the tank and sidecovers does have some small scratches and chips but shows very little fade. (I have a bike with slightly better paint to compare it to and the difference is minimal. ) The bike wears original plastic tank badges with the correct. block-lettered "450" beneath the Honda Wing in excellent condition. The clearcoat on the alloy pieces is very good but not perfect and again. original to the bike. Mechanically the only issue is with a balky starter clutch. The original cast ring was broken and new ones were not available so an intact used one was installed with new springs and rollers. It is most problematic when cold but works well once the engine is warmed and works better overall when the bike is being ridden regularly. All electrical systems function properly. All in all. a very nice. rider quality. unrestored motorcycle that is ready to ride and enjoy. The '68 K1's were the first true. purpose-built 450 Scramblers and are difficult to find in this condition. Any and all shipping costs will be entirely the responsibility of the purchaser.
