1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport Restomod
This 1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport, ode named Evolution, as a 3 year passion of mine. The intention was to build it into a modern tribute of the classic CB-F superbike, imilar to the styles seen today by many great Japanese custom builders. The resto-mod began as a Canadian model CB1100F, hich differs from the US model which houses a small bikini fairing and rectangular headlight. It was stripped of its suspension, heels, nd engine and then the frame was coated in gloss black ceramic paint.
Fitted to the rear is a CBR1100XX “Blackbird” swing arm modified for twin OHLINS shocks and spools. The front forks are USD units from a Honda RVT1000R RC51 SP1 with a custom billet aluminum upper triple clamp from HoHey Designs. Riding position is well balanced with LSL superbike bars, oodcraft rearsets, nd a Corbin Gunfighter seat. CRG bar end “lane splitter” mirrors provide great all around visibility and give an aggressive look. The switch gear and instrumentation features a KOSO GP style gauge cluster and as well turn and start / stop switches from an RC51. The front and rear signal lights are from a 2012 Honda CBR600RR, nd give the bike a more modern feel. The brakes include RC51 front calipers, arge 320mm Galfer wave rotors, piegler braided steel brake lines (front and back), alfer pads, CBR954 rear caliper, nd as well CRG “roll a click” levers.
The bodywork is a dark charcoal metallic with clear coat over custom decals from AFE Graphics. The one-of-a-kind paint scheme is complimented with light weight forged aluminum Carrozzeria wheels in a gold anodized finish. Fitted to the wheels are Michelin Pilot Power 2CT’s (sizes 180/55-17 rear and 120/70-17 front).
The engine was bored to 1123cc and fitted with Wiseco forged pistons. The head was mildly ported and Webb 118 camshafts operate the valvetrain. The crank is from a CB900F which has a smaller and lighter primary gear and chain to reduce reciprocating weight and is also known as a stronger crankshaft for the DOHC engine. Feeding the engine are 39mm Keihin FCR flat slide carbs with K&N filters. The ignition is a DYNA2000 system with NGK Iridium plugs, upported by a Deka AGM ETX-15L battery. To keep the engine cool, custom 13 row cooler was fitted with braided lines. An EK ZVX2 530 chain lays down the power to the rear wheel. New clutch dampers were also fitted to the clutch basket, hich has EBC fibers and stiffer springs to handle the power. The engine breathes through a lightweight stainless 4-2-1 header from the German manufacture Peter Schule, ell-known for its incredible mid-range torque. Fitted to the header is a custom stainless steel mid pipe with a titanium SATO Racing canister, upported by a titanium SATO Racing exhaust hanger.
Mechanically the bike is very strong. The engine fires up quickly cold or hot and runs smoothly with no smoke, eaks or unusual noises. Both rear tire, hain, nd sprockets have less than 125 miles (200kms) on them. The bike gets a ton of looks and compliments from other riders and enthusiasts, nd it can certainly keep up in the corners with many modern sport bikes. It was featured last year in the February edition of Cycle Canada magazine, hich I will provide a copy of with the sale of the bike. It has been ridden approximately 3450 miles (5500 kms) since its build, nd because it’s no garage queen it does have some minor cosmetic blemishes that are barely noticeable, ut expected as a regular rider.
This is a used motorcycle - and therefore no warranty is expressed or implied. Please ask any questions you have before bidding and do not bid unless you have the funds to complete the purchase. I encourage anyone interested in the bike to have it inspected, r inspect the bike personally, rior to bidding. I will do my best to answer any questions - phone number on request to serious parties.
Shipping is the responsibility of the new owner. I will not crate the bike, owever I will help the shipper in any way I can. Bike can also be picked up in Ottawa, ntario, anada. Bike will NOT leave my premises until ALL funds have cleared. Ontario title is clear and in my name. All sales are FINAL. I do have the bike listed privately and reserve the right to end the auction.
