Description

Vintage drag bike motorcycle. 1983 Honda CB1100F cc 4 cylinder engine. DOHC. 4 valves/cylinder. ran in the low 10. 0xx seconds with 235 pound rider. set up for race fuel (Cam 2). left side cover says "Mistral Eng" which I believe is Mistral Performance Engineering; appears to be an aftermarket distributor drive system. frame is round tube professionally built in CA. wheelie bar removeable for transport. bike weight = 366. 2 lb. . wheelbase = 5' 10 3/4". overall length 12' 6 1/2". rear axle to wheelie bar wheels = 5' 8 3/8". has air shifter. MSD Ignition. two stage module 8739. comes with roll around starter cart that holds a car battery (missing as old battery went bad) supplying a handheld starter that engages a 3/4 inch hex stud on right side of engine. engine was freshly gone through by shop prior to storage and installed but throttle cables are not hooked up at ends and final drive chain is off but present. Brembo disc brakes front and rear. front tire almost new looking Metzler 90/90-18 51H. rear slick Goodyear 25. 0 x 8. 5-18. aluminum alloy wheels. final drive chain is off for transport and master link is in the parts box. has tachometer. air shifter pressure gage. gravity fed fuel to 4 carburetors. carbs marked "CR Special" Keihin. it appears these are racing carburetors which now cost about $700-800 a set of 4. comes with lever operated parking stand and a small wire stand that fits under footpeg to lean it on in staging lane. A box of parts has various carburetor gaskets. set of needles. various sets of jets. orings. air cleaners. chips of various rpm for ignition or rev limiter. final drive chain and master link. and other parts. I am selling this for my friend Wayne who ran this drag bike with his brother Gordy who was the rider. Wayne is not a computer ebay person. Gordy passed away due to health problems years ago and this bike got parked and has been stored high and dry in a garage ever since. We recently moved it to free up some storage space and wiped it down. revealing nice red paint. Wayne put preservative in each cylinder for storage years ago hence the motor turns freely by hand - I put a 3/4 inch wrench on the starter drive and turned it. The spark plugs are loosely installed presently. Starting is achieved using a handheld starter motor that uses a car battery on a portable cart which is included in the sale. There is no kick or electric starter on the bike. Front tire looks almost new. rear slick has few runs on it. I do not see a brand name on the alloy wheels but they appear to be high quality gold anodized aluminum alloy and spin true. It was last run at Quaker City Dragway in Salem Ohio and was previously run at Speedworld in Florida. Unfortunately all run slips and engine work receipts were discarded after Gordy died when his place got cleaned out. Front fork tubes measure 35mm; they and triple trees appear to be possibly Ceriani. Fuel tank is custom fit welded aluminum. There is an air tank for the air shifter under the seat. and it is plumbed to the left handlebar and shift cylinder on the left. There is also a shift lever for manual shift positioning. The frame appears to be straight. undamaged and appears to be professionally manufactured. sourced from CA; Wayne doesn't recall brand. The front forks have left and right steering stops and there is a steering damper on the left side. Wayne states there are no known crashes to this bike and it ran straight and true. Fairing and seat/rear fender are held on by doz fasteners. Seat and rear fender were removed for some of the photos. There are many quality parts on this machine throughout. Front brake is working and rear is low on fluid; both should be gone through. We have not attempted to start it recently and it is being sold as is. Shipping is responsibility of buyer. $500 deposit due by paypal within 24 hours of auction close and balance due within 7 days by cash. certified check or money order. If necessary I can deliver it to a shipper within reasonable distance and crate it for a nominal fee. Years ago I crated and shipped a Triumph TT special to New Zealand and the buyer commented it was the best crate he had ever received. Contact me regarding crating if need be but be advised this bike. wheelie bar and starter will require a very large crate. Bike stays put until funds clear. The motorcycle doesn't have a title as it is a race bike. Wayne will provide a written bill of sale he owns it free and clear. I haven't found a serial number on the bike and am not sure where to look - please advise if you recognize the machinery and where numbers might be located if any. I don't know and Wayne doesn't recall the specifications on cam. compression ratio. etc. Wikipedia states the stock 1983 CB1100F were 108 HP machines which ran 11. 13 seconds/120. 48 MPH. That is for a stock 534 pound (dry) machine. and this machine weighs quite a bit less. Specs state it is a 5 speed. I am selling Gordy's racing leathers in a separate auction - size 48/40 jacket and pants and gloves that zip together at the waist. They are in nice condition and show no signs of road rash. Any questions either email me or call Wayne's cell at 724-683-2076. Mileage is unknown and mileage 11111 was typed in to satisfy ebay. There is a total loss ignition system. runs off the battery. and the motorcycle battery in it below the seat is presumably dry and dead from sitting too long. CR Special Carbs. forks. triple trees. wheels. motor. ignition. Brembo brakes. Mistral Eng parts. starter all add up to many thousands of dollars worth of parts.
