Description

1974 Honda CB750 CB 750 Four Dream Classic Export Available!
Frame Number: CB750-2354724Engine Number: CB750E-2462883
Under development for a year, he CB750 had a transverse, traight-four engine with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and a front disc brake, either of which was previously available on a mainstream, ffordable, roduction motorcycle. Having a four cylinder engine and disc brakes, long with the introductory price of US$1,495(US$9,614 in current money), ave the CB750 a considerable sporting performance advantage over its competition, articularly its British rivals.
Cycle magazine called the CB750, the most sophisticated production bike ever", n the bike's introduction. Cycle World called it a masterpiece, ighlighting Honda's painstaking durability testing, he bike's 120 mph (190 km/h) top speed, he fade-free braking, he comfortable ride, nd excellent instrumentation.
The CB750 was the first modern four-cylinder machine from a mainstream manufacturer, nd the term superbike was coined to describe it. Adding to the bike's value were its electric starter, ill switch, ual mirrors, lashing turn signals, asily maintained valves, nd overall smoothness and low vibration both underway and at a standstill.
Unable to accurately gauge demand for the new bike, onda limited its initial investment in the production dies for the CB750 by using a technique called permanent mold casting (often erroneously referred to as sandcasting) rather than diecasting for the engines – unsure of the bike's reception. The bike remained in the Honda line up for ten years, ith a production total over 400,000.
This CB750 is a great restoration starting place. The engine turns over good, ut has not ran in roughly a year. One great feature is the fact that it is an original survivor and comes with the oenrs manual. The odometer gauge does have some damage, he tank has been coated, nd a few minor holes in the exhaust. A few other odds and ends I'm sure. What fun would it be to pick it up with nothing to do? Please ask any and all questions and inspect the pictures carefully prior to placing your bid.
