We recently purchased this 1969 Honda CB450-K2 Super Sport from a collector's estate in New Jersey. This bike was presented to us as being completely original (except for tires and other maintenance items) and we haven't found any reason to doubt that claim. This is a very rare bike. 1969 was a transition year for Honda and their very popular CB450 series. They produced a few K1 series in 1969 which had many of the details of the older Bomber style of the 60s. such as the "toaster" tank. Honda also produced a few K2 series Super Sports in 69 which began to include many of the details of the later K3-K7 Super Sports that were so popular throughout the 1970s. This bike has the rare combination of screw off fuel tank cap. cigar shaped mufflers. drum brakes front and rear and tilt up seat that were only available in 1969 and then replaced in later Super Sports. The frame VIN number CB450-3012264 identifies this bike as an early K2 with a very close engine number of CB450E-3012268 which is unusual. The bike looks great and runs great for a 46 year old bike. Everything works as it should. including the battery charging system. all lights and both electronic and kick starter. The original Candy Red paint on the fuel tank is in very good condition for it's age. with only a couple of small chips and mild fading on top. The interior of the fuel tank has been sealed by the previous owner. The Candy Red side covers are also in very good condition with pin sized chips and one small scratch on the left cover. The original exhaust pipes and muffles are also in unbelievable condition for it's age. with only minor blemishes and one past repair. We would normally restore these items. but we decided to leave this bike untouched and let the new owner decide what to restore and what to leave original. This is a great opportunity to own a rare and collectible Honda CB450 that is still in beautiful condition and can be ridden around town or to Vintage Motorcycle Shows. This bike is being sold as is. where is on a No Reserve basis with no warranties or guarantees stated or implied. Bidders are encouraged to inspect the bike before bidding. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an inspection.
