Description

Rare American Eagle 405 Talon with a Yamaha 360 engine. Estimated model year. 1969-71. Originally built by Sprite Developments in Oldbury. England these were imported by Jack McCormack and called American Eagles. They were also known as Alron 405 in Australia and the BVM 405 in Belgium. The original engine was an Italian built Husqvarna clone. It is not available which is probably a good thing if you intend to ride the bike as they were not known to be reliable and parts are extremely hard to find. We first got this bike about a year ago and at that time I got it running. The engine runs very well but the bike was not test ridden. The gearbox shifts and appears to have all gears working. Some stress cracks are in the leftside of the tank. possibly from a knee strike. It is not known if the tank leaks but the fiberglass structure feels solid. No known ethanol damage. Probably the last time the bike was ridden was before ethanol was a factor anyway. The bike is very complete with even the original alloy side panels. You should be able to get the bike into ridable condition very easily. It is sold with a Bill of Sale only. I will assist in any shipping as well as I can. costs for which are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
