1953 Indian Chief, oadmaster Bonneville

This 1953 Indian Chief motorcycle is an original machine with a record of being sold in California in 1953.It is believed to have been originally sold in California’s central Valley. It has correctly matched engine, rame, nd engine case numbers. The drive train has been built twice by Indian Dan Reese a renowned Indian motorcycle builder. This 1953 Indian Chief was last run in 1998 after a motor refresh but it was never put back on the road. This bike has recently had a repaint, nd it has been correctly assembled and tuned. It is ready for show and go and could easily stand the scrutiny of an AMCA judging event. Offered on a clear California title, on op. Records indicate that this is the number 213th built in 1953 of the 700 or so motorcycles built by the dying factory. This is a real end of production Indian Motorcycle.

Mileage: Zero miles on the new drive train. Odometer shows 10821.

Paint: This motorcycle was repainted May of 2015 by a professional shop. Quality application with quality products.

Sheet metal: This motorcycle has all original sheet metal other than the front fender which is an early reproduction from Matt Blake (circa 1990).

Chrome: All chrome has polished up well.(cases were polished by original owner)

Tires and Rims:

Tires are Metzler 30-90-16

Rims are Chrome with stainless spokes.

Mechanical: This drive train was completely rebuilt in 1993 by Indian Dan Reese. All receipts and work records available. The drive train was again refurbished in 1998 because the 1st build was run with a side car and the owner wanted to make sure that it had not been over worked when he removed the car. All receipts and work record available. There are minimal miles if any on the 98 build because the bike was never completed for riding after the engine and tranny were shipped back for to the owner. This motorcycle has all of the correct Bonneville internals. The motor was recently tuned and the carb rebuilt to Bonneville specifications.
