Description

1970 Kawasaki G4TR 100cc Trail Boss
In the late 60s and early 70s all forms of motorcycling were growing rapidly. The Japanese were getting serious about competing with European manufactures. They were introducing better quality and more advanced motorcycles every year. In 1970 Kawasaki launched the G4TR 100cc platform to replace the 90cc models. The G4TR was focused on being a true entry level enduro bike. The bike stayed in production through 1976. This motorcycle has a 10 speed transmission. 5 speeds in low and 5 speeds in high. Most bikes of the time required sprocket changes, ut on the G4TR you just switched the transmission to suit your needs.
This auction is for an excellent example of the 1st year of the Kawasaki G4TR. The bike was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up using as many original or NOS parts as possible. The only parts not original are cables (they are NOS Kawasaki, ut in black, he correct cables were grey), ires, nd seat cover. Most restored bikes have parts from other years. This bike is very correct with original wheels, uggage rack, eadlight bezel, hifter, ickstarter, nbsp; The original parts have not been rechromed. They are very nice for the age but not perfect, hey have some light pitting and wear. I have apassion for the early 70s Kawasaki two stokes. I have won several shows with my Kawasaki F7s (see pics, bviously F7s not included in the auction). This bike was a complete 3300 mile bike before the rebuild. Factory fasteners were used everywhere possible. The bike has been painted the correct candy red. The only color available in 1970 was candy red. I will include some original documentation (see pics, wners manual is for a 72). I upgraded two items on the bike. The rear fender has the later model fender support underneath as it adds much more strength to the fender (which had a tendency to crack) and I used the later model air filter cover which is chrome (the original fender supports and original cad plated air filter cover will be included). The front fender has minor scratches at the front please see the pictures. This bike has 1 mile on it since it was completed. It will need to be broken in and minor adjustments may be required after and during break in.
This bike is rare. I have been looking at vintage Kawasaki motorcycles for the last decade and I have only come across 2 of the 1970 G4TRs. This is not your $1500.00 Craigslist Kawasaki. You may not see another one of these in this condition for years.
The last few pictures are examples of F7s that I have built. The bikes in the line up and trophy pictures are not for sale. See my other auctions for a very nice 71 Kawasaki F7.
Please look at the pictures carefully and ask questions. This is an exceptional bike but is a 45 year old motorcycle and should be treated as such. This is not for someone without mechanical ability or someone needing a daily driver. It takes knowledge and patience to keep these older bikes functional. I really hope this one is added to someone's collection and the history preserved.
The State of Georgia does not require a title for older motorcycles. The bike is currently registered and tagged in Georgia. I will provide a copy of the registration and a copy of the police inspection report (they run a stolen vehicle check). You will need to check with your local tag office about registration, he laws are different in every state.
$500.00 is due at end of auction remainder is due in cash at pick up. You can pay balance by Paypal, ut you will have to pay the 3% fees. I will not release the bike to a transportation provider until it is paid in full no matter the situation.
Please see my other auctions for 1971 Kawasaki F7 and a 1966 Honda CL77
