2001 KTM LC4 640 Adventure Here’s your chance to own arguably one of the best dual sport motorcycle models ever. These are becoming harder and harder to find since stopping production in 2007. In the two seasons I’ve owned this bike it’s taken me on several DS rides to the Smokys, he Blue Ridge Mt’s and all around TN/NC via backroads, orestry roads and single track. Just this Sept, rode it for 2 days out into the Sonoran Desert without issue. This is a very well sorted and capable DS bike. Enough power to go down the highway all day at 70-75mph and the best suspension in its class. When your buddies on their KLR’s bottom out and can’t go any further…you can just power wheelie through it!! J Video of bike starting and running… https://youtu.be/UBG2tk2aLm8____________________________________________________________________________ This bike has a few essential bits and pieces that make it the perfect mid-distance dual sport bike.
- · SW MoTech Quick release side case racks
- · SW MoTech rear fender rack (attached to side racks making super strong cage in the back)
- · SW MoTech Aluminum engine guard
- · SW MoTech side stand
- · Micro turn signals
- · SW MoTech 12v plug (handlebar mounted)
- · Rox adjustable risers (Best part EVER for taller riders who like to stand)
- · Acerbis High front fender
- · Excel rims and nearly new Karoo rear and Kenda Bigblock front tires
- · Vapor computer (with manual)
- · Box full of spares parts (clutch cable, ilters, prockets etc)
- · KTM owners and parts manuals
1. Scratches on right lower gas tank. Dropped in the sand going up very steep incline.
2. Decals bubbling. Typical of all these plastic tank beast. Easily removed and new ones applied
3. Missing one left side cover fastener and one Quick release fastener from rack. When missing upon my return from the desert ride. Easily found at KTM dealer and Twisted Throttle.
4. Decompression lever not currently hooked up. Stock cable too short when I installed Rox risers. I never used it on previous rides, o I haven’t replaced with longer cable yet.
In July-August 2016, ’m going to do the TransAmerican Trail which is off road from Jellico TN to the Pacific Ocean. Everyone I’ve talked with who’s done it says smaller is better, o I’m getting a 450 class KTM to make a full on Rally bike. I am reluctantly selling, o jump on this now before I change my mind! **If you’re looking for something BIGGER and more comfortable for longer rides, heck out my 2012 Yamaha XTZ1200R Super Tenere in my other auctions! ***Buyer 100% responsible for ALL shipping cost. Bike doesn’t leave here until paid in full and funds have completely cleared my bank. $500 deposit via PayPal due 48 hrs after auction end
