I built this bike from two basket cases I had purchased. I completely tore down the engine, ransmission, nd drive shaft assemblies. inspected all components and resealed all assemblies. This was about a year ago and at the time I just reused the old cylinders and pistons and all the other stock parts. I also rebuilt the carbs, ront forks, iring, odified the headlight bucket and the rear turn signals and signal/ license bracket. I repainted the tank, ide covers, nd headlight bucket but not the frame which I should have since it was almost completely disassembled but oh well, here are chips and scratches in the frame and some imperfections in my paint also but its still pretty nice. I installed new tires, rake pads, nd side and handlebar bags. I tuned the bike up and got it running rather well so I rode it to work a few times and did some highway riding. I don't think I put much more than two hundred miles on it and determined that I was getting excessive piston slap which I had expected to occur since the pistons and cylinders were from the other engine in the other basket case. So I but the bike in storage until a few weeks ago. I just installed a new set of pistons, ylinders, ings, utomatic cam chain tensioner and electronic ignition. I also installed a brand new starter and of course a new battery.I got the engine timed in just enough to get the carbs adjusted just enough so that it will run and I could makecertain it was strong mechanically. It sounds much better (very tight and right) unfortunately I need to sell it for various reasons and do not have time to dial in the timing and carbs. This bike is for sale as is andI amsure with a little adjustment it will run flawlessly for many years to come.
ALSOThe horn button operates the starter and the high/low beam wiring is backwards and the electronicturn signal relay keeps burning out but I think its because its cheep from autozone.
PLUSI have a few extra items to go with the bike such as some parts paperwork, anual, ouple extra oil filters, ouple specialty tools, nd a partial gasket set.
