I never thought I would be offering my beloved Guzzi for sale this soon. My wife & I are outgrowing it carrying capacity wise. It has truly been one of the best all around motorcycles I have ever owned. I have owned it for6 1/2 years. I bought it in Feb. of 2009 from a cycle shop in Sherbrooke, anada. They were listing it for sale for a local customer. It had 27,342 miles on it. It now shows 81,052 kilometers(50,252 miles). It was listed onEbay. So I have put 23,000 miles on it. Just getting broke in good for a Guzzi!
I added a taller windshield, ngine guards, 2-volt power source on dash, eated grips(switch on dash), ighway pegs on guards to stretch out on long trips, take-off wool seat pad for driver, ear trunk w/back pad forpassenger. It had the saddlebags & mounts on it when I bought it.
As I understand it, uzzi only exported the later model 1100ES Quota to the U.S. and only a very limited number. Canada imported them through 2002 after which they were discontinued. I put a new Duro tire on therear awhile back, robably three or four hundred miles on it. The front Duro will need replacing soon. For some reason the front tire seems to wear faster than the rear. I think they are 60/40 rated(60% on road, 0% off ).They get better grip on sand/dirt/gravel roads and hum some going down the blacktop at speed but you get used to it. They cut down on your top end speed too, think they are rated for 90-100mph. The Quota is gearedpretty high and really eats up the miles at an unstressed pace. If you don't push it too hard it will average around 40mpg so almost 200 miles on a full 5.3 gal. tank of 87 octane unleaded fuel
It starts, uns, hifts, nd stops well. If you have a 32" inseam you will barely be flatfooted sitting on it unless you have your elevator shoes on. The pre '98 models had 35"-37" seat height. It weighs around 600lbsunladen and has a lot of suspension travel to smooth things out.
Parts are available through dealers and some on Ebay. I highly reccommend Harper's In Greenwood, O. They have been a Guzzi dealer since the '70's and are very friendly and knowledgeable Guzzi is celebrating their94th anniversary this year.
I will be glad to answer any questions you might have. I have traded and sold many motorcycles in my life but this is the first one I have offered on Ebay so please bear with me. I have good feedback and want to keep it that way. I try to be as honest as I am able. Thanks for looking at my auction & Semper Fi !
