Norton 850 Commando

Time to sell my 850 Norton Commando. Prior to me it’s had two owners. The chain of ownership on the title would suggest it was originally purchased by a lady rider here in California. I bought it about 5 years ago [via an auction] from a museum/collection in Texas where it had been on display for quite a long time. Clear title in hand. It usually lights off on the second kick. it’s been the most reliable British bike I’ve ever owned. If you have been reading the eBay ad’s for Norton Commandos. most of them describe bikes that have been pulled out of a garage after long periods of storage. and need some work. Here is a bike you can pay for and ride home. It has just been completely gone through by Sonny Nutter. Everything works. Highlights of the work performed; New. 020 pistons. new valves and guides. New battery. Branson ignition. updated. isolastic mounts. and updated master cylinder. New primary exhaust pipes and star nuts with “peashooter” mufflers. The K81’s have about 300 miles. The bike is exceptionally clean and well detailed. So you ask. why is he selling it then? Simple. Sixty + years of bikes and playing hard have taken their toll. The knees just will not tolerate kick starting any longer. So this one and four of my other bikes are being sold. But because I like this bike so much. I bought a 75 Commando with a button (electric start) to replace this one. You didn’t really think I was going to stop riding……. did you?
