Local pickup only near Cleveland/Akron Ohio.1973 Norton 850 Commando. All matching numbers (frame, ransmission and engine). Life event forces this auction. Lead photo is a before disassembly picture. The Commando needs to be assembled, ompleted and ridden. Please look at all the photos.I apologize for the relist. I am not able to help with shipping so the Norton is local pickup only. Sorry for any inconvenience. I am located between Cleveland and Akron Ohio andhave no idea why ebay is showing the option for a shipping quote...please disregard that option. This is local pickup only. When I bought the Commando, t had been in neglected storage for quite some time, owever, n running condition. The engine sounded great with no bad sounds. A short ride verified that the transmission shifted nicely. Many photos were taken during disassembly and fasteners were placed in labeled bags. The frame and associated hardware were cleaned to bare metal and painted with black basecoat/clearcoat. The frame/brackets paintjob is not perfect and might be satisfactory to some and not to others. Some bare surfaces that were cleaned have slight surface rust. The body panels and gas tank were painted many years ago and have some chips here and there (see tank photos). The cylinder bores are within spec for the standard diameter. One of the bores has rust pits where a piston ring was in contact for a long time. The pitting is about 1 ½” down from the top and not all the way around the bore (see photo). The cylinder has a chipped fin.The head condition is unknown. It has modified exhaust pipe threads (see photo) and a chipped fin.The frame is straight. The rims are Akront. There was an older electronic ignition installed. Also included are a few points assemblies. The seat looks great and is probably a replacement. One of the ears on the headlight bracket has a crack at the mount hole.A new unstamped ID tag and rivets are included as well as the original ID tag.Factory shop manual and Haynes Manual included along with a few Roy Bacon books and a box of Norton News magazines.Several extra parts; side cover, riple tree, turn signal, ockheed lever assemble, tc.....Saved old parts (I cant throw anything out!). Old pipes are good to tune carbs with so you dont discolor new pipes. Old pistons give insight into jetting and condition.Clear Ohio title. The title lists the Commando as a 1974 model but it is really a 1973 based on serial numbers and specs. This was common with bikes during the 70’s. If you aren’t OK with that please reconsider bidding.List of Brand New Parts:SilencersExhaust headersMaster cylinder rebuild kitFork sealsFork stantionsSilencer mountsElectrical connectorsCarb bootsSilencer clampsSpeedometer cableKick start leverPrimary chainFlat handlebarsNew Webcam camshaft (#12 grind a real nice street grind.
