1975 Norton Commando 850 Interstate Electric StartExcellent Original Bike. Recently Out of a Collection of 9 Nortons. Well Sorted. Matching Numbers. Electronic IgnitionThis 1975 Norton Commando 850 Interstate Electric Start is a very clean and original matching numbers bike with 8. 00 original miles. It has been serviced by britbike and Norton expert Dave at Classic Cycles Ltd in New Jersey. The previous owner bought the bike through Dave. who was representing the bike's second owner. He was an older gentleman who had 9 Nortons in his collection and had owned this bike a long time. We have a signed letter from the previous owner attesting to the mileage and history of the bike. The bike was mechanically gone through by Classic Cycles. and has a new battery. had a valve adjustment. fresh fluids. new Amal carbs (932). Pazon electronic ignition. and the tank sealed. We are putting on a brand new set of Dunlop K81s. Dave told me he believed the bike was never really apart. The super clean condition under the seat. the condition of the original paint on the frame. and various other original details on the bike all point to this. The isolastics are in good condition and the bike runs very smoothly. The bike comes with two seats. the stock original seat and a cafe style. The bike also comes with a set of mirrors (shown in a few photos here. ) All signals and lights work correctly. The bike starts up easily and settles into a nice idle. You can see from the cold start video below. The power is outstanding and very smooth with no hiccups. Braking is straight and smooth. and the gearchanges are positive. with neutral easy to find. This is an extremely well preserved original bike with very low original mileage that was owned by a passionate Norton enthusiast. It has been gone through by one of the best Norton experts in the Northeast and is ready for a new owner. Left hand shift and electric start makes life even easier. The bike is titled off the Verlicchi frame number stamped into the neck of the bike. which. on these later Commandos. is different from the engine and vin number stamped into the plate.
