1974 Maico MC250/4 MC MotoCross Last of the true 'vintage' Maicos The suspension revolution was in full combat attack mode and every manufacturer was scrambling with this 'new' technology and trying desperately to stay ahead of their competitors and out do one another. Maico would come out with no less than 5 FIVE models in 2 TWO years!! from 1974 to 1976 a NEW bike was introduced virtually every six months!! and if you weren't racing on the latest & the greatest bike available that particular week, ou were out classed and obsolete. This very rare 74 model was the last iteration of the true short travel MC model line, s the tiny W. German Maico factory was busy preparing the '74.5 GP's for production and distribution. All numbers match each other---frame--both data plates---motor.This bike is all stick and original with the following exception: grips (Scott), hrottle, acifico plastic replica front fender, ircle Industries gas cap. At the time Wheelsmith was the sort of unofficial US development arm of Maico. They made parts to improve performance and reliability of Maicos and sometimes got advance samples of production parts and some works parts and the like from Germany. This Bike has some of those WheelSmith parts, brake arm, xhaust and WheelSmith foot pegs.----and possibly other wheelsmith parts. This bike is a total find still sporting it's original Metzler 6 days tires (good condition), adaelli rims (front has some chrome peeling-see-photos, ipe & rear bracke, urface rust wear side stand, hrouded Girling shocks (still dampen), olt-on crossbar handlebars, arly Magura control, eat & cover (usable but has tears, ee photos, ll fiberglass (except front), orks & boots, ing carb, ables, heels, prockets, hain, olts & fasteners, tc. etc.. Bike has paint scratches, amp; scuffs, urface rust, atina & red paint splatters on the tank. It just had an oil change, ew oil filter, amp; fuel lines replaced. Runs Great! Email me, hebam1332@aol.com for a video of it running. Questions: 248-933-9398 VERY HARD to find these bikes unmolested and original as production numbers were extremely low, nd also due to many owners chopping up their frames and moving up the shock positions trying to make them competitive with the later bikes. Almost impossible to find a '74 250 Maico like this anymore. If you like unrestored originals, his is it! Buyer is required 100.00 immediate deposit. Cash due upon pick up. Buyer to arrange pick up. Bike is in Auburn Hills, ichigan. see all photos below enlarged for condition and details
