Hello, /p> I am happy to be listing my matching numbers 1954 Jawa Perak, r Type 11(250cc) twin port single. This bike had a model run from 1946 to 1954. The Perak is a special bike in the Jawa line up as it was designed in secret during the Nazi occupation of the Czech Republic. Realizing the war couldn’t last forever the folks at Jawa wanted to have something brand new and fresh to offer the public when the war concluded, lso banking on the fact that most motorcycle manufactures would only rehash the prewar products when the ball started rolling again were hoping to gain a larger volume of sales. About my bike… It enjoys a fairly fresh restoration (completed last year). This includes a top quality paint job of the tank, enders, rame, ront end, ubs tool box and battery box, t was expensive but done to the very highest standard. The tank was replated at Browns, o the plating quality of that is unquestioned. The following are new items on the bike: Wheels: Rims, uchanan Spokes, ubes, im strips, ront and rear brake arms, rake shoes, heel bearings, nbsp;Heidenau tires Front end: fork bushings, teering damper and friction discs, andle bars, rips, ables, igh/low horn switch. Clutch and brake levers, eadlamp glass and trim ring, ork boots, ork boot clamps, peedometer w/ new rubber gasket Exhaust: Exhaust headers, ollars and mufflers Tank: gas cap and gasket, etcock, ey, nbsp;gasket for switch and ampere meter. Rear suspension: rear shock covers, /p> Motor: kick start lever, hift and kick rubbers, lutch plates, rimary drive chain, ounter-shaft sprocket, hift shaft, ear drive chain. The cylinder was honed and existing piston reused as they were still good, ew head gasket. Frame/Electrical: foot rubbers, iring harness, ire pump, eat, eat friction dampers and seat spring, uts and bolts, orn, enter stand, able guide/shield(located on front down tube), nbsp;converted to a 12 volt system with power dynamo upgrade, as a brake light added to the system. So this means it has an electronic ignition (no points or condenser) and 12 volt lights for safer evening rides. The bike starts, uns, hifts, lutches and brakes as it should. All the electrical works as it should, he ampere meter shows charge except it is reading backwards (so when it is charging is shows negative charge and when it is discharging it shows positive charge). I don’t know if this is because of the power dynamo upgrade or not, ut I have followed the wiring schematic as it is supposed to be, hen I reverse the wiring on the ampere meter it does not read at all. The carb has been replaced with a later model 250 carb as the metal on the original basically crumbled when it was taken apart. I was able to reuse the original choke/air filter assembly with the carb change, o externally it looks basically the same. On the lower right hand side of the tank is a small dent. As you may or may not know when you send a tank to get chromed it is as is, ents usually can’t be filled and chromed over. The dent isn’t drastic but it is there. The inside of the tank is clean. While running without lights on in the first key position (one click right from center) the key does not stay in place, o I remove it and put it in my pocket. When the key is in the second position (two clicks right from center) for lights the key stays locked in place as it should. This is a replacement key and the term key is very loose as they all used the same key. Their a few little paint scraps on the rear brake hub. The front hub on drum side where the spoke connect to the drum is slightly ovalized meaning it is not completely round. The braking is not affects by this as it is progressive without being grabby, he drum itself is still round. You just notice it visually when you are riding, nd looking down at it. Since these hubs are hard to get here, had to use it, t does not effect the braking ability of the bike at all, nd doesn't show when the bike is still.
The bike would be a lovely addition to any enthusiast who loves the Art Deco design of the postwar. It’s probably the nicest style period of all the post war Jawa’s to date, ith a distinct nod to its prewar lineage. After this period it just wasn’t the same for Jawa as far as quality and detail. It is a simply stunning bike to look at and really jumps out in a crowd as something unique and incredibly beautiful. The Perak is also a rare bike in the States so if you are looking for something like this this is probably the one you want as they just don’t show up very often. This bike has a clear Texas title in my name.
Please ask questions, he bike is sold as is there are no warranties implied or expressed. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
