1978 Suzuki GS550e Runs and Rides!

For sale is a 1978 Suzuki GS550e. A true gem of a bike. has that old-school cool and power to boot. Probably one of the best designed inline 4 motorcycle engines ever built. this is back from when they still used roller bearings. These motors. with proper maintenance and riding. can go for upwards of 100. 00 miles. Top end recently (2014) torn down and rebuilt where necessary. New valve assembly in the #3 intake side. Everything cleaned. adjusted. inspected. and replaced as necessary when I did this. Valves were all adjusted to . 04-. 05mm (spec is . 03-. 08). Carbs were went through cleaned and balanced when I bought the bike (summer of 2013). New intake boots and O-rings. airbox leak tested. everything has been gone through. I added a Dynatek Electronic Ignition system. If you have ever messed with points and breakers. you know how good this mod is. More power. easier starts. and better riding. Also installed were new spark plug boots (NGK. OEM). new spark plugs (NGK). and I tested both coils (they tested perfect). Battery is one year old. I keep it on a battery tender. The battery should last a while. In addition to a strong electric start. this bike has a working kick start! Cool and handy! Chain is new as of late 2013. Very low miles on this chain! Tires are new as of mid 2013. again very low miles! I bought this bike as my first bike. and loved it. Now that I have done all this work. the bike is awesome but I do not have space to store two bikes. and I cannot give this bike the love it deserves. There are a few things that still need attention. all minor. You can ride it today! Some of the metal parts and pieces have some surface rust. or minor dings and dents. This bike could be show quality with a little bit of love and work. You truly cannot buy a bike like this anymore. it is special. A perfect bike for the vintage Japanese motorcycle enthusiast. beginning rider. or anyone with a love for machines! I bought this bike in the summer of 2013. the story I got on it was the previous owner bought the bike from a fellow who had it sitting in a barn. hence the low mileage. I have put about 1. 00 on it since I purchased the bike. Previous owner replaced most of the rubber parts that would disintegrate. Runs and rides great! This bike is also dead simple to work on. all you need is some metric wrenches. sockets. and a few screwdrivers. 10. 00 miles. I just changed the oil with Suzuki motorcycle oil and a Suzuki oil filter. Minimal maintenance required until the next oil change! Title in hand. I am ready to sell but not in any rush. I have plenty of parts that have come off the bike and been replaced. I will include these if you are interested. I also have a spare front tire that I will include. again if you are interested.
