Fresh from storage- A 1974 SUZUKI TS 185 SIERRA. 3200 miles. clear title. nice survivor. I'm knee deep in a 1965 Mustang restoration and could really use the money and the space. so I'm thinning the herd a bit. Since I primarily collect vintage Honda's the Suzuki is the one I'm willing to part with. I purchased it several years ago and restored it and added it to my collection. Pulled it out. added a light premix of gas. changed the oil and she started right up. and went around the block. Now it's not a flawless museum piece. but an extremely nice survivor of a rare. but popular bike in it's day. Let's start off with what is not perfect: The tires have great tread. hold air. but have weathering cracks. If your plan is to ride it a lot. you're going to want to change them. The chain and sprockets will be due for replacement down the road. The battery would not charge. but will start and run without it. Lock on the gas cap is inop. it latches. but won't lock. The R/side blinkers. horn. and some of the indicator lights are not working. I did a lot of electrical work when I first got it (Last owner had some wires cobbled. unplugged. etc. ) and everything worked when I put it into storage. Some may be simply bulbs. but I suspect the L/side switch (with the horn button. blinkers. Hi-Lo. etc. ) is the culprit. Available used and aftermarket on Ebay for about 40 bucks. 2 screws and 2 plugs to install. The headlight. i-Lo beams. the neutral light. the dash lights. tail light. and brake lights are all working. Chrome is not perfect. but well above average with some light pitting. Just want to be honest. check my rating. I sell lots of vintage bikes and am an honest E-bayer. Now the good. This was a running. driving machine when I purchased it. with a clear title signed and notarized by the last owner. ready for transfer. It has 3200 original miles. I completely disassembled the bike. cleaned. polished. painted. repaired. or replaced all parts. It was painstakingly reassembled. all moving parts lubricated. Gas tank was cleaned. flushed. and relined. Petcock was rebuilt. new gas lines. The fenders. side cover. and gas tank were professionally painted back to the original silver. Frame was repainted. New factory decals were added. new seat cover. new mirrors. and brake lever. The speedo and tach work. The carburator was rebuilt. points cleaned. new plugs. new air filter. fresh oil change. Brakes are good. starts easily. runs strong (ahh. that 2 stroke sound and smell form the glory days of yesteryear). Took it around the block a few times. rides well. injection system working as designed. This would make an awesome addition to any collection. a pit bike that everyone will want check out. an awesome camping bike. or a great everyday rider. These are becoming very rare. and rising in value almost daily. Brokers have been recommending collecting 70's bikes as investments. Spring is here. go ahead feed that inner child. grow that collection. don't let this one pass you by. It is not 100% perfect so while I'm not giving it away. the reserve is reasonable. Look closely at the pictures. ask any questions. stop by and see it in person if you're local. I WILL NOT ship. but will make every reasonable effort to accomodate the shipper of your choice. If it's paid in full. I can store indoors for up to 30 days. $500. 00 non refundable deposit due by PayPal within 24 hours of auction's end. Payment in full due within 5 days of auction's end. This has happened way too often. don't ruin it for others. This is a 41 year old machine. it is obviously sold as is. no warranty. no guarantee. no returns. I have described it as honestly as possible. Good luck !
