1990 Suzuki RM125
Guy Cooper tribute bike
This is the one you've been waiting for. This bike started as a low hour mostly stock motorcycle (I still have most of original parts and they come with the bike). I built this bike with every intention of riding it, owever an injury earlier this season has put my riding on hold and I cannot justify letting a bike like this just lie around. Here's the list of what was done:
Motor
- Eric Gorr built 144cc big bore motor (complete motor rebuild with machined cases)
- Eric Gorr porting
- VForce3 reeds
- 38MM Mikuni TMX carb (comes with the stock 34mm)
- Works Suzuki exhaust (yes, real works pipe)..comes with a super clean stocker too
- Carbon fiber silencer with titanium hardware (made by owner)...comes with a stock alloy silencer too
- Oversized billet radiators with blue & braided plumbing (had to use the braided line do to the Works pipe fitting so tightly against the motor)...comes with stock radiator too.
- Uni twin filter
Suspension
- Bike does come with the stock complete front end and both stock complete wheels/brakes
- 2010 KX250F Showa forks (Works A kit) built by Factory Connection (shortened 1" - can be reversed)
- Stock shock built to similar specs as the forks by Factory Connection (shortened 1" - can be reversed)
- Tag triple pinch lower triple/double pinch upper (comes with stock triples too)
Wheels
- Front - Gold Excel with G-Series front hub mounted Dunlap MX51 tire/oversized spokes/Excel hanger
- Rear - Gold Excel with G-series rear hub mounted to Dunlap MX51 tire/oversized spokes/Excel hangers
Brakes
- Tixtex 280MM oversized front rotor with Acerbis rotor cover (this brake will put you over the bars...serious, erious stopping power here)
- Wave rotor rear brake
- Rental chain/sprocket
Miscellaneous parts
- Technosel gripper seat with custom suede sewn in (had to send the seat off to have the suede woven in)
- Works Suzuki alloy fuel tank (I only have a yellow decal on the tank as I did not want to paint it). There is one small pin den in the left side from being handled, hich I point out in one of the photos (new tank)
- Custom made frame guards (owner made)
- Works opaque front number plate
- Answer Aluminllite II bars with crossbar pad
- AVS bendable levers
- IMS wide footpegs
- Various titanium bolts and washers
The bike runs simply amazing. I cannot believe how much power this bike has (you will not be disappointed). I built this bike to be raced and that is why I used the newer suspension parts (I wanted the best). I also kept the bike true to the 1990 era by using the 1990 fork guards/front brake cover and the bars Cooper used. These small touches bring the bike back to 1990. However, f you want to keep it real, he bike does come with the stock fuel tank which is in excellent condition. This was a low hour one owner bike (I have the title and it comes with the bike). The previous owner had bought the bike new and rode it until it lost compression (which is how I got it). He had replaced the levers, ars and rear brake pads and that its (bike still has the kickstand & original knobs in good condition). I shorten the suspension 1", ecause I felt that this bike along with the 1990 KX125 were just way too tall back in the day, hich affected the cornering, ut the Suzuki's always cornered well, o when I had Factory Connect build the suspension I had it shortened, owever this takes nothing away from the quality as the bike will not bottom any more than it would with the additional 1" of travel, t will only improve your cornering ability. This bike would put a smile on Guy Cooper's face for sure! Again, got hurt so I am unable to ride it, ut I built this bike to be ridden and I hope the next owner does just that. Thanks for looking and good luck! P.S. I through in a couple pictures of Cooper's Works bike for point of reference.
