Complete. great running. mid-year bike in original. un-restored condition. 1975 was the debut of the venerable RM series. and the 125 was the only RM made during the first year. This bike is not a factory "S". but it has the "S upgrade" that was available from Suzuki dealers at the time. which bumped up the horsepower from 23 to 26. The S upgrade includes a hand ported (at the factory in Japan) cylinder. less restrictive exhaust pipe (no dents or rust). 34mm Mikuni carb (clean as a whistle) to replace the 28mm carb that came on the stock 1975 RM125"M". along with a special aluminum adapter flange and larger carb boot (no rips or damage) to accommodate the larger carb. as well as a different air box with bigger holes in the filter cage for more air flow. It has also been reported that the vent hoses on the 34mm carburetor included in the S package were pink. and this carb has those original pink vent hoses! Very cool! The bike has strong spark. good compression. starts easily and runs great! I cleaned the carb (which was already spotless). checked and adjusted the timing to factory spec using a dial indicator. I put a little oil down the spark plug hole. added fresh premix (93 Sunoco w/Bel-Ray H1-R and it fired right up! Next. I replaced all of the o rings and strainer in the petcock with OEM parts. added a new UNI air filter. new spark plug and changed the transmission oil. There are no oil leaks from the crankcase. or any leaks for that matter. I took the bike out for a quick ride and it goes through all the gears smoothly and rides pretty darn good! It's surprisingly tight for a 40 year old bike. All it needs is a new chain and sprockets and it'll be ready for AHRMA vintage racing. Here are a couple links to two YouTube videos of the bike running (Copy & Paste Into Your Web Browser): http://youtu. be/jSprsTlYt7U & http://youtu. be/XHm2mtf0U3M The metal gas tank is spotless on the inside (photo 12). Nice. clean shiny metal with no goop or repairs. No dents or dings on the outside of the tank. just a little surface rust. The brakes work very well. suspension feels very good. Nice and firm in the rear and the pre-load adjusters work properly and are not frozen. The forks have good dampening. The bike rolls smoothly and steers well. No broken fins on the cylinder. or cylinder head and the crankcase is also free of any damage. The tubes hold air and the Metzeler tires have pretty good tread left and there is no cracking or dry rot that I can see. The only obvious flaws are that it will need a new chain & sprockets and a new seat cover. The front number plate has a small crack and the front sprocket cover is missing. The plastics are all OEM. not aftermarket. The side covers are free of cracks and unpainted. but faded. I did some light wet sanding on the right side cover to show that they should clean up pretty nice with a little more effort on the part of the buyer. The fenders are the opaque style plastic with original yellow paint with a few scuffs and paint chips here and there. but no cracks that I noticed. The opening bid is very reasonable for such a rare piece of motocross history in such good. original condition. $250 Deposit through pay pal is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is to be paid in cash upon pick up within 3 days. No checks. credit cards. money orders. bank checks. no exceptions. ONLY CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. If you have less than a 50 feedback rating. please contact me before bidding. otherwise your bid will be removed. Also. if you don’t plan on paying. please don’t bid.
