Suzuki TM250 J Vintage Motocross bike VMZ

Awhile ago picked up this 1973Suzuki TM250J vintage motocrosser as a basket case with the intention of doing a full restoration, hen set about acquiring all the missing components. Began work assembling it into a running, iding condition to ensure it would be a viable project before sinking money on paint and shiny parts., ut sadly that's as far as I've got with this one. It's mostly complete, uns and rides, ut I haven't made a start on cosmetics . The engine is stripped of paint in preparation for a rattle can spray but I never got to it, o it looks like hell.

This is a solid base for a restoration for vintage motocross racing, r even just as an ornament as this is an increasingly rare bike. To be clear, here will be some work required to finis, ut it now a viable project as the most of the major work has been done. It run, ides, nd shifts through the gears nicely. It starts first or second kick and runs crisply.

I have another bike on the go at the moment I'd rather concentrate on and anyway I'm moving back to Australia in a few months so this has to go to a new home. I've spent hours on this bike and will be sad to see it go and will try and be as honest as I can in my description. .

The bike was stripped down to every last nut and bolt, he engine removed, ases split and the bottom end rebuilt with a new (refurbished) crank and rod, ew main crank bearings and new oil seals and gaskets throughout. The transmission is refreshed and in great shape, il pump, lutch, ear selectors, lectrics, wiring, lternator and stator all overhauled.

The carb has been stripped and cleaned, he frame painted, ew control levers, hrottle, as petcock, ill switch, nbsp;and air filter pod. I have the original airbox which will come with the bike. The brake lever is not installed in the pictures but is included, s well as a small selection of spare parts.

The top end is good for now but will probably require a re-bore if you plan to race, r at least a decent honing . Piston pin, mall end bearing and head and exhaust gaskets were replaced with brand new parts. Included is repair manual and an original parts list, great source of information as each part is illustrated clearly with exploded diagrams. A lot of parts are interchangeable with the Suzuki TS series and are readily available. Please ask questions and I'll do my best to answer. It has no title obviously as it's not road legal but ebay won't allow to list without checking the clear title box. I'll happily provide a bill of sale. I will assist with loading but please arrange your own shipping and estimates.

Things to be aware of:

It will need new tires front and rear. they are cracked and hard.

Missing rear fender. Fork legs are pitted.

oil pump cable and reservoir. I have a temporary set-up in place.

Some wear on the engine cases around the mounting bolts.

The tank is dented and a little battered. I don't think it is original to this model.

Cush drive rubbers need repacking. sprocket is loose on hub.

Chain guard roller needs replacing, s does sprocket cover.

Several of the fasteners are rusty and have seen better days.
