Description

No Reserve Auction – 1969 Triumph 650 Chopper I am selling this motorcycle (1969 650 Triumph) for someone and this is the information I have been provided: He recently purchased this from an individual that has owned it since 1999. This person rode it periodically until 2010 and then put in his basement to store. He recently decided he no longer wanted the bike. so he then sold it to Mike. This bike has a Ron Finch springer from back in the day (I included in the pictures an advertisement from 1973 that included this same springer). It also has an old school chain guard that was made out of round stock. I also liked the twin coil setup. We have no history as to who chopped the bike or when. but this look is what people are copying today. The patina (nicks. rust. fading). and customization from back in the day will attract a crowd at any event. I would change very little. as age is hard to replace (but this is my opinion). The motorcycle kicks over and has good compression. There has been no attempt to start this motorcycle. I have taken many pictures. but here are some of the things that you cannot see that were noticed. The front wheel may need new bearings because you can move it from side to side. There is no spring on the kickstand. The rear fender that was welded to the sissy bar is broken (I was told this was due to a very large person sitting on it while in the basement). The gas cap cover comes off the gas cap when unscrewing. The left side stop to keep the bars from hitting the tank needs to be repaired. The gas has that old stale gas smell. There is a clear title to the bike. However. I could not find the title numbers on the frame. I was told that these old chopped bikes were made from whatever was available. so it may not even be the same frame. From what I can tell the engine is from 1966. I took a picture of the serial number on the case so you can be your own judge. I have shared all I know and what I have been told about the motorcycle. So. view the pictures carefully and be sure to ask questions. The Triumph is located in Detroit Metro area and as being sold as is. where is. There is no warranty and no returns. Any shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A non-refundable $200 deposit through PayPal within 48 hours is required and the remainder in cash at time of pickup. The motorcycle will need to be picked-up within 7 days of purchase unless a prior arrangement is made. Someone will be available to assist in loading. If you have questions. you can call Mike at 248-618-8455 between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm Eastern Time; Monday through Saturday. Thanks for looking and have fun bidding.
